The WH Smith unit in the centre of Llandudno is set for auction this week. The building has been placed on the market with Allsop.

WH Smith is signed up as tenants at the site until 2027 - with a tenant option to break in 2025.

The company currently pays 65,000 a year for the site. The store is spread over two floors and the whole building comprises a total of 819.49 sq m (8,821 sq ft).

There is a Post Office counter in the store. It will go up for auction on Tuesday November 2 - with a guide price of 575,000-600,000.

These disgraceful and selfish people should be ashamed of themselves...........  $angry$     $angry$     $angry$

Llandudno GP records more than 400 missed appointments in September

Mostyn House Medical Practice, Llandudno, that 454 patients did not attend their appointments in September.

The practice has asked people to cancel their appointments if they are unable to attend so that the slots can be offered to others.

Mostyn House saw 4,982 patients, handled 7,003 calls, and issued 24,290 items via prescription in September.

All of us have a responsibility to each other. By not attending an appointment we have arranged, we could be delaying care being provided to someone who is in urgent need of support.

Our GPs and their medical teams are under huge strain, we ask that all of us play our part to help ensure that practices can operate in the most effective way possible.

It's disgusting that people can do that as there must be many seriously ill people who are unable to get an appointment with their GP.
I wonder if their system operates a fine or removal from their patient list for not attending an appointment?

The Parade was supposed to take place in July to welcome new Mayor of Llandudno Councillor Carol Marubbi, who was sworn in on May 20.

This was postponed until September, then further delayed due to the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Residents braved the wet weather to line the streets and welcome in the new councillors, mayor and deputy (Councillor Greg J T Robbins) into their positions.

A church service was held blessing the incoming town councillors and their new leaders while a laying of the wreath ceremony was also held at the town's cenotaph.

They were joined by members of the Cadets, British Army veterans and other dignitaries.   ref pioneer

A VETERAN who has been a fixture in the Llandudno entertainment scene for more than five decades is getting ready to "bow out gracefully" on New Year?s Eve.

Ian Turner will walk into retirement on January 1 after a final "big party night" at the Merrion Hotel.

The 66-year-old, who is well-known in the town for his music, dancing, comedy, quizzes, radio shows, fundraising and more, has chosen the specific date to step away from the industry; Mr Turner did his first New Year's Eve 'gig' about 50 years ago at the Imperial Hotel on the prom.

Speaking to coastal chief reporter Suzanne Kendrick, wearing a brightly-colourful suit to represent a rainbow, Mr Turner said: "I have done my bit. I've been in the business for 53 years, coming up to 54.

« Reply #8767 on: November 17, 2022, 10:18:49 am »
LLANDUDNO'S magical Christmas Parade will make its return to the town in early December.

Led by Father Christmas and his sleigh, the parade usually travels from Llandudno Train Station before heading to Vaughan Street, Mostyn Street and to Lloyd Street outside the Town Hall.

This year the spectacular will feature a new character - the Icicle King. There will aslo be stiltwalkers.

Cllr Antony Bertola, Chairman of the Christmas Parade, said: "Llandudno Town Council is delighted to be hosting the Christmas Parade once again. Last year?s event was a great success, with thousands turning out to watch the Parade as it passed through the town, with everyone getting into the Christmas spirit and we are really looking forward to this year's event.

"We have new attractions this year including an icicle king and stiltwalkers as well as old favourites such as the Theatr Colwyn pantomime float, the nativity, and of course Father Christmas in his sleigh.

"There will also be entertainment outside the Town Hall from 2.15pm.

"The Town Council would like to thank Transport for Wales (TfW) and APCOA parking for allowing us to start the Parade from the Railway Station and all involved in this year?s Parade."

The event will return on Saturday, December 3 at 4pm.

Residents turned out in their droves last year for the festive procession.

In 2021, the parade had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza 2022: All you need to know about the huge Christmas event
Thousands are expected to enjoy the event as the festive season gets well and truly underway

Last year, more than 30,000 people enjoyed the return of Llandudno's Victorian Christmas Extravaganza following the coronavirus pandemic. And this year, organisers have again gone all out to bring plenty of festive cheer to the town.

The extravaganza is billed a free-to-attend Christmas family event with entertainment, gift stalls, food and drink vendors, and fairground rides for the kids.

The Met Office have predicted temperatures of up to 11?C and as low as 8?C this weekend, with a slim chance of light showers on the Sunday. But, the rain isn't set to put a dampener on the whole day and should clear up before the afternoon.

Details are correct at time of publishing but as with any event, are subject to changes. Always check the details with the organiser for any last-minute changes before setting off.

The 2022 Christmas Extravaganza is back and better than ever, starting on Thursday, November 17, and running until Sunday, November 20. The event is open daily from 10am and closes at 9pm, expect on Sunday when it shuts at 5pm.

Exactly the same as last year, you'll find the event spread out over the roads around Trinity Church, Augusta Street and Madoc Street. For those needing it, the postcode provided for directions is LL30 2PY along with What3Words (intention.plot.commutes).

The area is going to be accessible by road and public transport. Llandudno railway station is the nearest for those wanting to avoid the busy roads.

WHAT WILL YOU FIND AT THE CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA?...............

I was having a drink in a pub last night with some friends and one of them told us about an incident that happened in the Craig Y Don/ Craigside area of Llandudno on Wednesday night.
He had been told by a reliable source who he chose not to name and added that you won't see the incident reported in the Daily Post
The allegation was that on Wednesday night there was a large ship off the Little Orme and from that ship a small boat was launched with 6 Albanians on board.
The small boat got into difficulties and the people on it had to be rescued and when they were brought to the shore they were immediately taken to the Hilton Hotel in Dolgarrog
If it's true then there will be RNLI and Police reports that could verify this but let's hope that it's not another method of illegals entering the UK

If it's not confirmed by next Thursday night then I'll have free drinks all night and my mate will be paying for them!

Watch out Mull.  an unconfirmed report has said that the ship is heading north at some speed     ;)

I had good reason to go in to town today and thankfully live within walking distance because the traffic was manic and the streets rammed with people. Hopefully this was good for local business and not just for those travellers with their funfair rides. Christmas fair this wasn't, it was about as festive as a snowman in summer.
I did spot a group of obviously not local males who are probably living in Dolgarrog at the moment and arrived via their bus passes. They were all smoking so hopefully they bought a good supply of fags outside the UK otherwise they will be putting in a complaint about the cost of a packet of 20!

CROWDS gathered to immerse themselves in festive fun on day three of Llandudno's Christmas Extravaganza yesterday (November 19).

The free four-day event, held on Trinity Square, Augusta Street and Madoc Street, has been dubbed the "biggest in North Wales", after about 30,000 people turned out for it last year.
