I see that the Fat Cat has been split into two and a railing placed in the middle outside.

I believe the new operator isn’t interested in paying £12,000 per annum rent for the second shop

I was talking to a local businessman the other morning and he said the same about it, just not worth the rent, being as it was empty a lot of the time. The main advantage to it is the extra trading space outside it gives you in the Summer months.

A standard sized glass of dry white wine, £7.25 last night at the Deganwy Quay Hotel.

Even the barman said it was mad, and the tables had not been wiped or the debris of the last customer removed.

Being negative only makes a difficult journey more difficult. You may have been given a cactus, but you don't have to sit on it.

Crazy prices!! Your service has to be 5 star to merit that sort of price and the Deganwy Quay Hotel isn't.

We just had a mug of tea and a bacon sandwich for £1.99 each at Caffi Cais.

Earlier today for £2 each, we enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of bara brith at St John's Methodist Church House.

Excellent value-for-money and the service was 5 star in both.

Total outlay = £7.98.  D)

I'm told the main Fat Cat premises were let for £30k a year.

I would pay those prices, have paid those prices, and hope to again.... if my income bracket ever reverts to the levels of years gone by. (fat chance)
Because, to be honest, call me a snob, but I don't fancy spending my free time in a church hall or a drug rehab charity shelter.
Fair play to those who do, but its not for me.

Now, isn't it funny how many Forum members bemoan the closure of so called 'quality' eating and drinking establishments, (Fat Cat being mid-range)... yet no one wants to spend more than £1.99?
Everyone likes a bargain every now and then, but by the same token lets have no more moaning when you see shops and eateries boarded up.

Most people want value for money and £7.25 for one glass of wine certainly is not good value! What that has to do with seeing shops, eating places closing though I do not know? If these places can't make a profit then they will not survive, as the Fat Cat has proved!
