True story: I was passing the Parade pub on Church Walks earlier. There was a woman unpacking things out of a car outside. A man came out of the open door of the Pub and shouted at the top of his voice to the woman: "I told you to move the f***king car round the side before unloading it". Everyone on the street looks round. Nice, really makes you want to go there for a pint..... &shake&

I know what you mean, if the woman can't even follow a simple instruction like parking the car outside before unloading it, what is she gonna be like pulling pints?  WWW

I hope she doesn't upset all the visitors from the Potteries because to me they have always been Staffordshire Oatcakes!

It could perhaps say Staffordshire--- my short term memory is dreadful. If it does-- my apologies.

Can you imagine bread in wholesale quantities in that small space?

As for the comments about the Parade, it must be catching. This happened outside another business further up a few years back during a politician's visit. The owner stood on the wall hurling abuse as the politician walked past. Not the ideal for promoting business.--Or am I old fashioned?

If it is Staffordshire oatcakes, you are in for a rare treat.
Served with bacon & cheese they are magnificent, a delicacy to be enjoyed especially Sunday mornings.

Oh yes lovely with bacon and eggs and as a sweet with honey. My childhood was in Stockport there was a market hall called the hen market where my father use to get those staffordshire oat cakes ( like an oat pancake) with the most wonderful cheeses cut from huge
whole cheeses, lancashire cheese so crumbly and creamy and stilton all of which you could try before you bought. I loved going with him, the fresh produce was second to none.Fresh Fish and wonderful hams i can still remember the tastes, lovely wholesome quality food. Now I'm hungry.  :)

On a recent visit to the north the sight of the fruit and veg piled up and selling like hot cakes made me realise how the markets are still flourishing.  People were queuing up to buy the produce. I used to try to go most weeks for my fruit and veg. trouble was carrying it home !!!!

It's not a corner is it?   Gimberts will remain on the corner of Gloddaeth and Mostyn St

The OTHER Gimberts is opposite Poundstretcher on Upper Mostyn Street, and work is currently going on inside.

Whatever it opens as, I shall be giving it a try. (assuming it serves BEER)  Z**

I think perhaps AJ is referring to Hoosons Corner? Nothing is going on there at the moment. A deal to open a cafe last year fell through.

I notice all the furniture etc has been removed from the Snug side of the Fat Cat. That side, of course, is under a separate lease.
