As Dave says, we have been looking to sample the wares at Harvey's New York Bar and Grill for a week or two now.
So tonight. we went for it!
On the plus side, the menu selection was very impressive.
It draws upon such places as Hard Rock Cafe for its inspiration, and considering they are a 'stand-alone' business and not a franchise, the variety is very good.
The decor is also quite impressive, and would not look out of place in a national chain of restaurants.
However, thats where the positives end.
I had the dozen chicken wings as a starter, (£4.99) and it was OK... just OK.
I suspect they had been fried a good while ago, and re-heated. so a little less tasty than I would have hoped, but hey ho.
My main course was the 'Pulled Pork', .......the menu had 'recommended' marked by this dish. It costs £10.99
Well, they may recommend it, but I am afraid that I won't be.
Pulled Pork is a dish which Hard Rock Cafe specialise in, and its a big favourite of mine.
It looked fine on arrival, but I soon realised that it was tasteless and strangely watery.
Unlike me, I actually left some of it, I tried very hard to like it, but I just couldn't.
So, overall, I wish them well, and I think they will be packed out next holiday season... but if they are relying on repeat customers, then I think they might have to add a little more quality to the food itself.
