North Wales Wetherspoon?s gets go-ahead to buy 'eyesore' site for seaside beer garden
Hopes are rising of a breakthrough in a long-running impasse over a derelict site in Colwyn Bay

It's about time that that land was developed but I hope that the eyesore of the Imperial Hotel across the road  is improved too

A CAFE which is among the oldest in Colwyn Bay is offering customers a huge free cooked breakfast if they can eat the entire meal within 30 minutes.

Blods Coffee Corner, on Abergele Road, is among those across the UK holding the ?666 Devil's Breakfast Challenge.

This sees hungry customers served six bacon rashers, sausages, eggs, hash browns, pieces of black pudding and toast, as well as double helpings of beans, tomatoes and mushrooms.

Anyone who can eat all of that in half an hour gets it for free, as well as having your picture placed on the wall of the cafe, and 25 per cent off your order the next time you visit it.

I went to Talgoed Garden Centre in Glan Conwy yesterday for some Spring bulbs and enjoyed a Parisella's ice cream while we were there and also had a quick look at the Cafe menu
Today we went back again for more bulbs but had a small breakfast there consisting of an egg, sausage, rasher of bacon, hash brown, beans and a round of toast.   Two meals and a pot of tea for two and just under 10.00 pounds!
It was a real tasty meal and the staff were very friendly so we'll be going there on a regular basis from now on

Drew Pritchard has bought a large Georgian house in central Bath to renovate. I was in Bath over the Summer and it's a lovely place.

Thanks for posting that link Steve,   I do like the cafe and the quality of the food there.

I don't mind how much I pay for a meal providing the quality is good and for a number of weeks I used to go to The Furnace at Bodnant for a breakfast.   It wasn't cheap by any means but the quality was good and we always enjoyed the meal.    That was until The Furnace must have changed its food supplier and to add insult to injury the half a tomato was reduced to a quarter of a tomato.     At 26.00 pounds or thereabouts enough was enough and we haven't been there since

THE OWNER of an award-winning vegan bistro is preparing to open a new 'plant powered cafe' in Llandudno.

Sara Turner, who owns Green Island Bistro on Rhuddlan High Street, is aiming to open Pip & Oat in February 2024. She will be moving into a unit on Clonmel Street [currently a photography studio]. Her lease will begin in January.

Pip & Oat is set to have a relaxed cafe vibe and will feature locally sourced food and drink. It will also be dog friendly.

The menu will feature delicious cakes, sandwiches, pancakes and kebabs.

Sara said: "Llandudno has been crying out for a vegan cafe for a long time. As a vegan myself, I get frustrated by the lack of options on offer especially in such a large and well visited town.

"Our lease will begin in January but as the venue is currently not a cafe, we will be totally kitting it out but we are hoping to open February time. We have lots to plan including menus, suppliers, new staff and also designing the cafe from scratch.
