Tonight, Llandudno Town Centre was rocking... (nearly) all the bars were packed, and it was great to see.

Cooneys is being rebranded as an Irish Bar, and has a re-opening night on Wednesday this week.
Only the genius that is Mick Cooney could think (or dare) to have a real life leprechaun outside the bar tonight, handing out flyers for the re-opening.
I took some pictures of the wee man,  but I'm too tired to upload them.
If any one is interested, I'll pop them on here on Monday night.... remind me.
The guy was no more than 2 feet six inches tall... and he was in the full Irish leprechaun suit.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry,  so I bought a pint instead!

How do you mean?

The fact that the rent has gone up on places, forcing companies to close stores and people to become unemployed.

I did see this quote from the Pioneer:

"Llandudno Town Councillor Angie O'Grady, said: "People rely on that service, because they deliver as well. I am really saddened by this.  "I'm sure Mostyn Estates are good at getting businesses into the town and have someone on hand. I'm pretty sure it won't stay empty for too long. "

Does she realise that it has nothing whatsoever to do with Mostyn Estates?! Mostyn Champneys is a joint venture between British Land & Hercules Unit Trust.

People don't even seem bothered that people are becoming unemployed, more bothered about where they are going to shop!

I'm more concerne about the price hikes I am seeing, in what WAS a budget drinking chain..
I'm talking about Wetherspoons.
I have my breakfast there nearly every day whilst our kitchen has been out of action.
For some obscure reason, the prices of food have increased from anywhere between 5% and 25%.
It is the SECOND time this year that this has happened too.. an outrage.
Not only that, but surely, (in line with hotels and holiday companies) would it not make more sense to REDUCE the prices out of season?

If you compare the price of most lagers in Wetherspoons they are about 10% lower than other local pubs...
BUT... the others offer loyalty cards which reduce thiers to the same level.

When you consider the buying power that Wetherspoons have, none of this makes commercial sense to me.
