A RESTAURANT in Llandudno has shut its doors, with its owner citing a multitude of financial headaches as the reason for its closure.

Bistro Bach, on Mostyn Avenue, Craig-y-Don, ceased trading on November 26, 2022.

The restaurant opened in 2016 and was a two-man operation, with business partners Bobby Sirrah and Craig Jones covering front of house and the kitchen respectively.

But due to such factors as rising energy prices and the cost of living crisis, Bobby said continuing to run the restaurant was no longer financially viable.

A FAST food chain is set to open its own express kitchen within a caf? and bar in Llandudno.

Hungry Cow, which opened its first restaurant in Holywell last February, will soon be setting up from inside The Fat Cat Caf? Bar, 149 Mostyn Street.

The chain, known for its huge burgers, wings and loaded fries, is also due to open its second restaurant in Mold early this year.

Its ?express menu? will be confirmed soon, with Hungry Cow adding that it is ?hoping to be open within the month? at The Fat Cat.

It also stressed that it is not replacing The Fat Cat Caf? Bar, which will continue to be open as usual; rather, it will be operating within its premises.

Orders can be made on Hungry Cow?s own mobile app.  ref pioneer

Conwy pub that closed suddenly last year is now set to reopen
Y Bedol in Tal-y-Bont was closed 'until further notice' last April and had remained shut

The couple have announced the pub will reopen in April. They are currently recruiting for staff for when the doors open.

A spokesperson for the pub told North Wales Live: "Steve and Marion are delighted to announce that Y Bedol Inn will be reopening on 6th April. Stephen has had two new knees and is now fighting fit and is looking forward to getting back in the kitchen.

"We will be serving our tasty homemade pub favourites again and our famous Sunday lunches will start on Easter Sunday. We are both looking forward to seeing all our loyal customers again and we will be taking bookings from April 1 onwards."

A pub in a seaside village is set to reopen in the coming weeks. The Cayley Flyer on Rhos-on-Sea promenade closed its doors last autumn and has been shut since then.

Another pub in the village - The Toad - is also currently shut due to a fire in September.

But recruitment is now taking place at the Cayley for a kitchen team so that the site can reopen. A revamp is also taking place ahead of the reopening.

It is understood the pub will reopen in February. A spokesperson said they were hiring for The Cayley - with chefs required to work in a ?fast paced kitchen?.

They added: ?They must be able to work as part of a team and individually. Duties will include, organising deliveries, placing orders and working with fresh produce. Must be available to start end of February and be flexible with working hours. Email sarahblackfoxleisure@gmail.com.?

The operators said they would release more information in the coming weeks.

Locals have reported seeing fridges, sound and lighting equipment being removed from Fountains Bar. Signage for the bar has also been removed.

At first mystery surrounded the sudden closure as sheeting was placed up across the windows, but a repossession notice has now been attached to the front door of the venue

Popular Llandudno pub the Cross Keys has reopened with a brand new look after undergoing a ?280,000 refurbishment. The venue, on Madoc Street, has welcomed customers again after closing last month.

The six-figure investment has meant the interior and exterior has been upgraded, while a new entertainment programme has also been introduced. The bar is now kitted out with a new pool table, an illuminated dartboard, and new games machines.

TVs are also now visible from anywhere in the bar. The pub, which is part of the Craft Union Pub Company, will host a launch party to mark the refurb on Saturday, February 18.

The Llandudno small plates restaurant where the food melts in your mouth
Next Door Restaurant has only been open a short amount of time but it has already become a firm favourite

Eating out is deliciously different at the Next Door Restaurant, Llandudno?s recently opened award-winning venue. The restaurant promises to use top-quality local and regional produce from fields and sea to showcase the true taste of North Wales.

Word travelled fast and since its opening last May and this newcomer has become firmly established as an exciting addition to the resort?s vibrant culinary scene. Ideally located in Gloddaeth Street close to the town centre and promenade, it has gained a Diners? Choice badge from Open Table and was nominated as a finalist in the Best Newcomer category for the Go North Wales Tourism award 2022.

A LLANDUDNO pub has a new look as well as a new menu thanks to a ?100,000 cash injection.

The Carlton is part of the Stonegate Group. The group invested more than ?100k in the pub to enable it to "bring the best in hospitality to the Llandudno community and beyond".

The venue benefits from new furnishings, flooring and decoration. Photos, charting the history of the seaside town, have also been put up on the walls.

The menu has been re-designed and opening hours extended; customers can now enjoy breakfast from 9.30am.

Having worked at the pub for more than 15 years from front-of-house roles to day-to-day running, Becky Gill is remaining in the management team.

Becky said: ?It has been a lively few weeks getting everything prepared and opening again and very exciting too. The feedback we have had so far on the new look and the offer has been really good, both here and online with reviews.?

The new menu, which now features pizzas, is proving popular with customers.

A MICROPUB has opened in Rhos-on-Sea on the site of a popular cocktail bar which recently closed.

Tapps at Rhos opened earlier this week on Everard Road, and occupies the former Cocktail Club site.

It is the third bar in a fast-growing chain owned by Llandudno resident Dave Guinn, who also runs the popular Tapps at 35 and The Ascot Tapproom in Llandudno.

The new Tapps is a food and drinks hub, which offers a wide selection of niche and independent IPAs, porters, ciders and beers, including wheat beer.

A CAF? which is among the oldest in Colwyn Bay is welcoming customers once again after being taken on by new owners.

?Blod?s Coffee Corner?, on Abergele Road, re-opened on Wednesday, March 8, having been closed since last April.

It has re-opened under the ownership of Tyler Booker, a 26-year-old chef, and her partner, James Jones, 36, who also owns Lawn and Order gardening and landscaping services in Colwyn Bay.

Both have lived in Colwyn Bay for most of their lives, and Tyler said: ?We've both grown up here and have always seen what a lovely caf? it is.
