True, but I can never get rid of the aftertaste.

_))* yes I remember the taste from siphoning petrol! Haven't done that for years! But it makes you think, £4.25 per pint, £34 per gallon!  :o

2 x large white wines in Osborne House yesterday - £12. Still, you're paying for the lovely surroundings, so no problem.

We had a meal in Home Cookin afterwards. Couldn't fault it, enjoyed my steak/ale pie very much.  $good$

When I hear people moaning about beer prices, I usually roll my eyes in disdain, because you get what you pay for in life in terms of nice surroundings etc.

But today, I heard myself complaining in agreement with those folks, as I bought a pint of lager in the Lilly at West Shore, and was charged FOUR POUNDS and TWENTY FIVE PENCE!!
Yes, £4.25 a pint, next stop a fiver a pint, and it won't be long.

I often get asked why the pubs in town are so quiet, well at those prices they deserve to be.   &shake&

Wetherspoons do a lovely Belgian beer - 6% at £2.29!! But I hate Wetherspoons with a passion, for having killed the other pubs in town. Those top whack prices are where we are heading, I payed about 7 quid odd for a double something or other in 147 last time I went, for a moment I thought I was in London till I realised my foot were stuck to the floor  :o

What a lovely time us teetotallers have on all the money we save by not visiting such establishments!   :D ZXZ

I don't want to be the richest man in the graveyard.

Dave, £6 for a large glass of white wine is not THAT bad, for the quality you get in Osborne House.
The beers and spirits in there though are way more than the average.  £4.75 for a bottle of Corona, thats a stinger!

I don't know what's going on at Cafe 121 on Upper Mostyn Street, but there has been no food available the last couple of times we've been in. A shame, as it's a great little cafe.

In case anyone thinks that I am starting to repeat myself --- when I posted the first time a message came up that someone else was posting and I might like to read that first. So O.K., but all that happens is Ive repeated myself.  Add that to mumbling to myself.
