He will go down in football history as one of the best players the world has ever seen, If he had chosen England instead of Wales he would have been worshiped everywhere thank god he chose to play for us I just hope he gets the Knighthood he deserves the same as Bobby Charlton.

David Moyes

The Football Association is investigating Manchester United manager David Moyes' latest outburst against referees following his side's 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat by Sunderland.

Moyes says United are "beginning to laugh at referees" for their "terrible" decisions following a third successive loss. An FA spokesman says: "We are looking into David Moyes' comments to the media following the match at Sunderland."

They are changing tactics for the return match at Old Trafford so they should go through to the Capital One Cup Final and it may be an all Manchester Final if City get through.

Man City  6  -  West Ham  0

The possibility of an all Manchester Cup Final has taken a step nearer but not everyone is pleased.

Chelsea  3    Man Utd 1

I've just watched the game on MOTD and it's a shame that Utd's two best players were out with injuries as it could have been a closer game.
Vidic was sent off with a straight red card but Raphael should have gone too as his foul was potentially more dangerous than Vidic's.
One thing I can't understand about the modern game is set pieces in the penalty area where the defenders have their arms wrapped around their opponents.  Both sides do it but one in particular stood out and that was when Rafael had Eto'o in a bear hug but thankfully it didn't stop Eto'o from scoring his third goal.
If this was done in any other area of the field apart from the penalty area then a free kick would be given for the foul so why don't referee's get tougher on these tactics.

we would have nothing to cry about if the ref,s gave the penalty,s that they should give during a match. when they  give a card to the players that make the card giving gesture to the ref.after a foul is  committed i,ll know they are in charge and know what they are doing. one can only live in hope

as you know i couldn,t support utd lol ,but vidic was a yellow but raphael was a red , once these refs start giving the pens maybe the holding will stop ,most of these overpaid players would,nt have lasted yrs ago

You're correct Norman and the pundits on MOTD would agree with you.   Vidic a yellow card and Raphael a straight red card.
Those clinches in the penalty area should be stopped as they spoil the game as a spectator sport.
Wouldn't have happened in our day Norman and I must apologise belatedly for all those bruises I inflicted on you when we thrashed you on Cwm Place field years ago.     ;D

Personally, I think Football should be a  NON-CONTACT SPORT.  Then we may see some actual skills using the foot, which is, after all, what it was supposed to be.

I'll third that Dwyforite, there's too much cheating going on.      It was nice catching up with you at Andy's Tyres in Junction a few months ago,  I can't remember if you played football when we lived on the estate all those years ago.
