Man Utd 1    Man City 2

Sergio Aguero's superb winner stalled Manchester United's march to the title as Manchester City cut their lead at the Premier League summit to 12 points.

Defending champions City led through James Milner's deflected strike after Ryan Giggs carelessly lost possession.

The home side responded quickly when City skipper Vincent Kompany turned in Phil Jones's wayward header.

But substitute Aguero's driving run and emphatic finish boosted City's faint title hopes with seven games left.  In reality though Utd have the title in the bag

FA Cup  Semi Final
Man City 2  v   Chelsea 1

A great semi final by two very good teams and a game worthy of the final itself.   Real end to end stuff,  played at a fast pace by two teams with great players on either side.

I did find it hard to swallow   ;D     but congratulations to Man Utd for winning the title for the 20th time and what a way to do it.    3 goals from Van Persie and the second was a cracker.
Not the best Utd team by a long way but they played well as a team throughout the season and deserved to win the title.
Apart from Liverpool, I support two other teams and one of them, namely Arsenal are playing Utd this week so I'm hoping that Robin Van Persie is rested for the game or else we could be in trouble.     :(

Congratulations to both Wrexham and Newport for making it to an all-Welsh Blue Square Bet Premier play-off Final at the home of English football, Wembley Stadium, on 5 May.

By coincidence, it was fifty years ago when I missed school to travel to South Wales and watch Newport draw at home at Somerton Park in the second leg of the Welsh Cup Final to Borough United who had already won the first leg on their own home ground at Nant-y-Coed in Llandudno Junction.

Later that year, I went to Wrexham on a couple of occasions to watch Borough United play early rounds in the European Cup-Winners Cup because their own ground was too small.

As a school kid, I began collecting a scrapbook of all the matches leading up to their successful cup runs and also the fund-raising events to help send the team to Sliema and Bratislavia.

I bet a certain WREX will be attending!

I was just pondering, that now that Cardiff and Swansea are now in the English Premier League, how can they continue to call it that, when 10% of the teams involved are Welsh?  $walesflag$

Fester, my guess is wrex will find it difficult to choose between Wembley and helping out at the Victorian Extravaganza.  ;)
