Yorkie is right though...
When my Mum came to visit for the Extravaganza weekend, she wandered down the prom, and then down Mostyn Street chucking money into every bucket, and into every collection tin.
She had no idea if they were genuine or not, but just felt like she should give them money.

It annoyed me, but I know I would have been seen as mean-spirited if I had challenged anyone or deterred her.  :rage:

Sounds good, if it goes ahead.  Cllr Dilwyn Roberts said that it "will great a great impression"  I'm sure that it may as long as you don't look to the Station Yard or Mostyn Estates little eyesore in front of the station.

Sainsburys have a Alcohol Licence application on the door of Alworths.

The application for an Alcohol Licence by Sainsburys for the former Woolies site is daily from 6am – Midnight.

There is a second application to serve refreshments from 11pm – Midnight.

What is that all about?

Their application is being dealt with by a firm of solicitors down in London who will no doubt know what they are doing.

Just attended the VIP opening night of Cooneys Irish Bar - it was a great success. Good luck to Mick with his revamp of Cooneys bar.

Yes, Mick Cooney is a great guy... and deserves to do well... lets hope all the local bars and businesses do well.

There were a number of 'civic dignitaries' there, weren't there Dave?

It was a veritable line up of Llandudno's great and good.  I believe even the Mayor himself was sighted nibbling on a sausage roll...or two.  ;)

Hi all

Does anybody know what is happening with the old Woolworths/Allworths building on Mostyn St?
I had heard a rumour that Tesco's where interested and had outbid Poundland for the lease (which is why the Poundland signs came back down so quickly) - but nothing seems to have happened since then.

The question is old hat!   Seems that Sainsbury's will be taking a hold in the town from that place.  Search the forum and ye shall find other snippets.   :D

Poundstretcher made the mistake of putting their signs up before signing the Lease! Sainsburys nipped in there and signed a lease themselves. They have made an application to sell alcohol and I'm sure work will start quickly once that is granted.
