Hi Dave, it's good to hear from you and I hope that your house move went well
There are always two sides to any disagreement and all the points you have raised are very valid and give a good case for moving the Library to Venue Cymru.        However the same could also apply to the Mostyn Street Library. nearby bus stops, car parking and an abundance of cafes within a few yards away.    More importantly, the present Library is in the centre of town and in  a busy shopping area

The crux of the matter is that the Councillors should have been aware of the opposition to the Library move and also they should have been fully read up on the business reason put forward for this move in order to cast a vote on the matter.
From the reports coming through the business reason has not yet been made availabl..e to the Councillors.    The vote should never have been made until the information was made available to the Councillors.  that is not democrasy in any shape or form

On a similar matter, did the Councillors have a surveyors report available for them when they all voted in sheep fashion to grant the approval of the Mochdre Lorry Depot?           It was only afterwards that they found out that the building was not fit for purpose and no lorries have been parked there since.      The ratepayers are still paying for those Councillors lack of judgement so let's hope that it doesn't happen again with the Library

In fact, it was the (paid) officers of the council who should have acquainted themselves with the capability of the structure, prior to any vote. I would really like to know what happened there...

My faith in the Planning Committee and their decision making has reached an all time low.       I'll post some of their  odd decisions on here in due course

Once again huge amounts of bagged up litter dumped by the bins at Coast Cafe by the paddling pool. The Gulls were having a field day ripping open bags and the contents scattered everywhere. Who is responsible for leaving it there, I'm not pointing fingers and I'm sure those that leave bagged up rubbish are unaware of the consequences but perhaps an industrial sized container emptied on a regular basis might be the answer....funded by the parking fines now being issued to overnight camper vans!

Dave, you may not want to point the finger of blame at anyone but I will.         It's obviously tourists and especially those with Motor homes who park there for free.
That's a very good suggestion of your to have an industrial sized container sited near the toilets.           The Paddling Pool is in such a lovely setting it's a shame when such a simple suggestion like your industrial container could avoid the present mess.

North Wales seaside town named 'best place to retire' in all of UK
A popular North Wales spot has been named the best place to retire in the UK, according to a new study

This year's list, compiled by Taking Care, crowned the delightful Victorian seaside town of Llandudno as the best place for a peaceful retirement. The elegant coastal town in North Wales outshone competitors such as Glossop, Tynemouth and Ilfracombe.

I didn't go to the 'meeting'. I have an open mind about the new ownership and despite living close by I don't think there is a likely negative impact on the locality, if anything it's a positive one as it creates jobs and stops the building falling in to disrepair. It is there to help people which after all is the important thing.
I'm not sure how many people were present but from what I can gather there were a few alarmist ones with suggestions that this new usage could even impact on local house prices. I can only imagine what their vision of the place will be but as another person has commented to me, you're in more danger hanging around a pub at night than you are ever likely to be in that part of Craig-y-Don.
