It seems Conwy is doing badly compared with the rest of the N Wales counties.

Possibly the new test centre picking up the new cases, I always expected Conwy to be in high figures, re older population.

Bri - don't forget the UK Govt has changed the rules to hit the 100k target. They are including tests they have posted out or agreed to post out in that total. Not quite the same as having a completed test with a result!

I wonder how that all works?

This morning they were further back-pedalling on the tests, saying that they're also producing false positives...

New figures have revealed how coronavirus infection levels in parts of the west of North Wales remain higher than the east.

Data released by Public Health Wales (PHW) yesterday showed how the infection is still spreading among the region's six counties.

Over the last week, Gwynedd has increased from a rate of 144.1 people infected per 100,000 to 187.6; Anglesey's numbers have risen from 82.9 to 118.6; Conwy has increased from 132.3 to 194.6.

Denbighshire still has the highest levels of infection in the population at 270.6, up from 223.4; Wrexham has risen from 142.5 to 182.2 and Flintshire has increased from 127.3 to 146.5.

These charts, produced by @LloydCymru, who also runs the coronaviruscymru.wales website, illustrate how the numbers of people testing positive in each county, have increased between Friday April 24 and yesterday (May 1).

Worryingly, the ineptness of our government has now seen us become third in the overall world deaths total. As the world total of deaths edges closer to a quarter of a million, the US tops the table, with Italy second and the UK now poised to overtake Italy.

Overall mortality is around 7% of confirmed cases.

I filled in the post code as directed for my area, and the result is.....  Llandudno Town & Gogarth (MSOA Conwy 001)
0 confirmed deaths
,However the data so far only includes coronavirus deaths between March 1 and April 17, which were registered by April 18.

The North Wales towns and villages without a single Covid-19 death recorded

A new interactive map by the Office of National Statistics shows the effect coronavirus has had on the region - and some areas have been hit harder than others.

To date, Denbighshire is the worst affected county in North Wales. Neighbouring towns Kinmel Bay and Rhyl are reporting five deaths each.

Meanwhile, areas such as Colwyn Bay, Holyhead, Ruthin and Bangor are each showing no reported deaths according to the ONS.

According to the figures, there are more confirmed positive cases of the virus in the east compared to the west.

For example, the Chirk and Pen-y-cae postcodes are the only areas of Wrexham not reporting a single death.

On the whole, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has recorded a total of 147 deaths across the whole of the region.
