I remember seeing him on the TV programme Four in a bed some years ago.     The man's a legend, well in his own mind anyway
It must be nice to be always right about everything

Update....

Drone row takes new twist as coast watchers' gadget is 'seized'
North Wales' Coastwatch Wales. claim their drone has been seized by the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI)

he ?1,300 aircraft was a useful tool to help keep people safe on sandbanks and as it was funded by donations it wasn't theirs to sell. The drone was used to help people stranded on sandbanks, or alert them to potential dangers, as it can play pre-recorded messages and even operate with lights at night.

Great Orme station manager John Humberstone was subsequently suspended pending investigation by the organisation. The NCI said at the time it could not comment further as "certain actions in relation to this matter have been referred to the police for further investigation". Other members also resigned and formed a new independent breakaway group called Coastwatch Wales.

However, Mr Humberstone claims that on Friday the ?1,300 drone was seized by the NCI. It is understood NCI representatives said it belongs to that organisation.

A lot of local talk about this gentleman, especially the dog walkers, great place for a rest..........

A MAN from Rhos-on-Sea has moved his coffee and cakes kiosk to Llandudno?s West Shore.    ref pioneer

Michael Roberts started the Coffee on the Hoof four years ago, to provide an income when his partner was looking for work.

The solar-powered venture immediately took off, and became a full-time gig.

Last year, the trailer was based at Park in the Past near Wrexham, and Michael decided to make the move back to the Conwy area after noticing a lack of coffee spots.

He told the Pioneer: I grew up in Rhos on Sea and my mother still lives there - my partner and myself visit the area regularly.

?We noticed that the West Shore was lacking anywhere to get coffee so we applied to Conwy Council.?

The trailer sells a range of hot and cold drinks, cakes, ice creams and other nibbles, with all products sourced from the region.

Michael added: Business has been great so far, very well received.

?The trailer has always been in this form and I believe it is unique!?

This should come under Local Eyesores..........

Former West Shore Social Club site could become residential units

A PUBLIC consultation period is underway amid plans to turn the West Shore Social Club site into residential units.

The pre-application plan would see the vacant Bryniau Road site demolition of the property for the construction of 12 residential buildings with associated access, internal access road and landscape works.

The social club, which has asbestos on the site, would be knocked down to make room for ?modern and innovative? one and two bedroom apartments, in an effort to ?provide a sustainable solution to the need for modern apartment living in Llandudno.?

The proposal and feedback form can be viewed at https://www.planningforleisure.com/.

A FAMILY-of-four found themselves in danger of being cut off by the tide at West Shore.
This happened on Saturday, May 13.

Apparently up to 10 tents camping on West Shore dunes over the weekend, including family groups, this could get out of hand if not controlled properly.

If you are planning to camp on one of the many British beaches, you should be aware that wild camping is, in fact, illegal in England and Wales. However, that isn't to say that you cannot do the activity, it usually requires permission from the landowner and this will come with certain rules and obligations.

Scores saved from Llandudno sandbanks - but they're about to become more 'dangerous'
Coastguards and lifeboats have been plucking visitors to safety for four days in a row

Coastguards have warned of potential tragedy on sandbanks near Llandudno if beachgoers continue to ignore tide times and safety signs. In recent days they have dealt with ?multiple reports? of people being cut off by incoming tides off the town?s West Shore.

In some cases, visitors have been plucked to safety by the RNLI Conwy lifeboat from ?rapidly shrinking? sandbanks, several hundred metres from the shore. On other days, people have been guided to safety by Llandudno coastguards with only minutes to spare.

Those venturing out next week may not be so lucky, they said. In a social media post, following a series of Bank Holiday rescues, Llandudno Coastguard said: ?Fortunately, at the moment, there are neap tides which means the tide flows relatively slowly.

?In a week?s time, the tides will be in a spring phase. They will be flowing much faster, thus making the sandbanks much more dangerous.?

Sorry again Steve but you just beat me to that article.      It seems to be a regular problem with the West Shore but thankfully there were no fatalities this time

Coastguard news.....

We were back at West Shore again today before we were called out.  The Council beach warden went out onto the sandbanks on his quad bike to warn a number of people about the incoming tide.
As the tide came in everyone made their way ashore and we stationed two team members in a position where they could warn anyone else attempting to go onto the sandbanks about the incoming tide.
If you are planning to go out onto the sandbanks it is perfectly safe to do so as long as you are aware of the tide times and you make your way ashore when the tide starts to come in.
If you are aware of anyone in any danger around the coast please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

FILMING for a movie starring big Hollywood names such as Sigourney Weaver and Miles Teller has reportedly taken place in Llandudno.

Residents saw crews setting up base at West Shore last Thursday (June 15). It is understood filming was for a new Apple Original Film called The Gorge. The production, described as a "high-action, genre-bending love story", also stars Anya Taylor-Joy.

Filming reportedly took place on the Great Orme and at a church yard on the Great Orme.

A DOG that became disoriented and started twitching after ingesting marijuana on the beach at Llandudno?s West Shore is now ?doing fine?.

Nancy, a 13-year-old labradoodle, was on a walk along the West Shore with owner Anne-Marie Parker on Saturday, 24 June when Ms Parker noticed her chewing something.

Thinking nothing of it, they returned home later on to find Nancy in extreme discomfort, being unable to stand and twitching ?strangely?.

?We dropped her off at home and went out for a coffee, but when we returned an hour later, we found her extremely disoriented, twitching strangely, and struggling to stand up,? said Ms Parker.

?I thought she?d had a seizure or a stroke and rushed her to the vets. We were just discussing whether she needed an MRI scan when she was sick.?

They rushed her to Mochdre Vets, who initially thought it was a brain problem, before later discovering she had ingested marijuana on the beach.

Ms Parker continued: ?And then the unmistakable smell of weed hit us and we started to giggle - I was just so relieved she hadn?t had a stroke.

?The vets gave her charcoal so that she wouldn?t absorb any more of the drug and we brought her home.
?She was very dopey for the rest of the evening, ravenously hungry, and finally nodded off dreaming of pink elephants.
?She?s very cheeky and exceptionally clever - but on this occasion her curiosity got the better of her!

?We just want other pet owners to be aware so it doesn?t happen to them.?

A Mochdre Vets spokesperson said: ?A warning to our clients to watch what your pets eat, particularly at the beach.?

?As more people are taking advantage of the warm weather, please be careful with what your pets may be picking up.

?Luckily Nancy is doing fine now, though she definitely didn't enjoy the activated charcoal.?
