That's pretty awful Mike but my earlier posting has gone mossing so I'm going to post it again!

I was able to find a firm in Anglesey  and 3 of them worked very hard for about 7 hours clearing the moss. They arrived on time and started work straight away scraping the moss off, then pressure washing the roof before finally spraying some solution on it to stop the moss coming back.  They tidied up afterwards and I had two very heavy sacks of moss that required two people to lift.
The result was an excellent job well done and very reasonably priced by Care and Repair  (Prop  Mr Anthony Evans)  Tel 01248 489108

I don't think so Yorkie, the firm is from Llangefni in Anglesey.

I still can't see any problem with moss on the roof, (just keep it cleaned out of the gutters) I would think that operatives walking about on the tiles would be likely to cause more harm than good by cracking them

They actually did crack two tiles but the firm is an established roofing firm and immediately replaced the  cracked tiles with two new ones.
In fact they did an inspection of the roof before they commenced work and found a tile that had been cracked by someone who had been on the roof previously and didn't own up at the time.

Yes, I should think it provides good insulation in the winter.

Garden clearance?

I got two quotes to remove approx 1 skip load of mixed soil, wood and household goods.
The first from a long time established local rubbish removal man who said he would not be beaten on price, and a quote from 'Bob a Job'........who was £100 cheaper!

Guess who got the job?

'Bob a Job', great price, great service, and left the place spotless.

Could anyone recommend someone to remove a wasp nest from our roof?

Phoned the council but they seem quite expensive considering in some areas the pest control departments do it for free!  :(

How much do the Council charge now? It was £30 when I had one removed a few years ago.

I'm sure someone can do it at a reasonable price.  Just make sure you don't get stung!    _))*

You can, of course, do it yourself with a spray.

Don't fancy attempting it myself, I was stung by one of 'em this morning and now have a big swollen foot and its soooo painful !  :'(

The council want £48.00 and they state it could be upto 5 days (and they only attend in the evening after 5pm for some reason ! )
