Hugo, I am afraid that I might have misled you as it is actually below the A55 eastbound which goes round Penmaenbach but as the three towns are Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and Conwy I thought that is qualified for "local" rather than "out of area". There is also a large cave there which is not gated.(see pics)
As it would have been so wet underfoot yesterday after Thursday's storms we took the bus to Llanfairfechan and walked back via the cycle track over to Penmaenmawr ( which was the only uphill section) then along the beach at Pen, round Penmaenbach headland (still on the beach) and then round the Beacons, through the marina and then Bodlondeb woods to Conwy (for my pie from Edwards's) and then through Deganwy and back home to Llandudno . Google maps gives the distance as 12.6 miles but as we walked round on the beach most of the way I reckon is was nearer 13 and it certainly felt like it this morning! Incidentally can anyone who lives in the Pen/Llanfair area tell me if it is possible to walk between Llanfairfechan and Pen on the beach below the viaduct please?
