At the risk of repeating myself !
This all began because Vollams had sold out!-- I wouldn't normally dream of buying a paper anywhere but from Graham and Bea !!!
The sections were piled up in the back of the store as it says in my post--- how do you work out that it wasn't their fault?
My apologies, I missed the bit about the inserts being at the back.
I did say "may not" have been their fault.

Accepted ;D

Has anyone else noticed the volume of used nappies being left at the roadside and on the pavements?
Need I add my opinion of this filthy habit? :puke2:

I'm not sure this is the best place to post this? I was going through Colwyn Bay on Thursday morning about 8:30 in the morning and I spotted someone walking eating a bucket of chicken from KFC it's been bugging me where did he get it from? KFC doesn't open until lunch

Called for fuel at Tesco in the Junction tonight. Single queue backing off the forecourt and part way round the roadway approach to the leisure centre. Kiosk/shop closed and ONE single pump operating on card only basis. :rage:

Dont know what Tesco are playing at . Same in Oban a few weeks back .
Shop/kiosk closed even though main store is open until 22.00.
Bit of a panic trying to fill up before catching the 2130 ferry back to Mull.
12p a litre cheaper than on the island.

And there was me thinking it would be quieter to fill up in the evening especially on a Sunday evening! Silly me.

Mull, hope you caught your ferry OK.

Once I again I have been thwarted in my attempt to use my membership at Llandudno Pool / Gym to have a swim.

Monday is one of the very few times in the week when there is a sliver of time, from 8.30pm til 9.30 pm, where us long suffering members (public council tax payers) can use the pool.

So, I made the effort to go there, checked my timetable to make sure that this was the night, and off I went for my gym and swim...

But NO!
Tonight the pool was in full use when I arrived with kids swimming club.
But, as I handed in my pass, I was told that the pool would CLOSE at 8.30pm for ''deep cleaning''??

THE CONSPIRACY CONTINUES!  &shake&

Anyhow, this is the last time I will be disappointed like this.  I went on my online banking tonight and cancelled my direct debit.  Its been a complete waste of money since I first signed up.

In What do they Know someone asked about this and here is the Councils answer:

Please find enclosed information in response to your Freedom of
Information request.

In the last 12 months being 01/05/11 - 30/04/12 the Centre had a total of
4,640 operating hours.

Of these operating hours the centre was closed for a number of functions /
events being as follows:

 Swimming Galas             120 Hrs
Swim Lessons / Squad    500 Hrs
Club Hire                         288 Hrs
                                     908 Hrs

These closures equate to 19.6% of our total operational hours.

The Centre is closed in addition to above the figures but these are
outside of our normal operating times, including an additional 100 hours
when the training pool is closed to provide the demand for additional
swimming lesson provision. We do close the training pool and sections of
the pool e.g. two / three lanes to enable us to deliver on the schools
national curriculum.

The closures are always highlighted on our website and throughout the
Centre, including our electronic scoreboard three to four weeks in advance
of any event. We also forward all customers to our other leisure sites.

Obviously, some of these Galas were negotiated with Swim Wales / Sport
Wales and are an integral part of the £1.5 million funding for the
Swimming Centre project. This is a 15 year agreement.

No doubt we will continue to have a number of ad hoc events in the coming
year so the above figures will ultimately change slightly. However, as
highlighted we will always endeavour to keep our customers fully informed
of any changes to our timetable.

Some of that information might be true, but what are these Club Hire hours?

Also, what about these 'Deep Cleaning' sessions which prevent use of the pool, why must cleaning be done during scheduled opening hours?

Also, what about these 'private functions' which I have encountered recently?    Very odd.

At times of closure the receptionists do indeed direct me to other leisure centres, namely Eirias Park.
But what they fail to mention is that you must purchase a £10 key to use the lockers there!

Not good enough, I maintain.

This is more a rant than a niggle. First, I must stress that I am 100 percent in favour of sporting activities being brought to Llandudno. Today the tri------ (sorry I cannot spell it) came to Llandudno. Jolly good show, more publicity, more people in the town, every one enjoying it, contestants and watchers. BUT, BUT, why on earth cannot the organisers brief all their marshalls and tell them how to explain to the public what they can do rather than just what they cannot.
Oh, and try to give the marshalls the briefest knowledge of their patch. Not just pitch complete strangers into closing roads and they haven't got a clue on the area.
What's brought this on?  I drove down into Llandudno today with the idea of having a cup of tea in the happy valley. O K by the Empire, Marshall waved me accross the road. Down to the Carlton island, left to the prom, tried to drive towards the pier entrance. Sorry, road closed. Me: cars have just gone through. Lady, they are going to hotels, the road is closed until 3 p.m. Me: we'll, how do I getup the Orme? Lady. You don't--u til 3 p.m. Me: I've just come down o.k. Lady: we'll, maybe you have come down, but you cannot go up --until 3p.m. Me I HAVE to go up at two, I've got a business up there to run. Lady What business? Me Great Orme family golf. Lady, that's not up there. Me, well it was when I left it ten minutes ago.lady, well if you have a business you can pass. Me, so Icahn pass but my customers cannot? Lady, not until after 3 p.m.
Needless to say I went back and the Marshall outside the empire hotel waved me accross with a smile.  He was stoping the traffic whenever a cyclist went past, but that only held everyone up for a minute or so. Mike

Same happened to us last week Mike--marshalls kept sending us up streets only for them to be closed at the top end. 20 mins to cross town.

Totally agree Mike, many of the marshals seem to be putting on fluorescent bibs and having a power trip enjoying stopping and ordering motorists around and generally causing inconvenience and this in turn alienates the local people that really the organisers need on side if they are to move their events forward.
Last Sunday in the 10 mile road race, a marshal by the roundabout near the pier was stopping all traffic from going to Happy Valley and around the Great Orme toll road when the race wasn't going around there.  I believe CCBC were rather unhappy at the resulting lack of cars on the toll road as were the ski slope and cable car and various cafes.
