Wild Horse Brewery in Llandudno was launched just over a year ago - inspired by the craft ales in North America and a home brew kit.   Z**

Now Dave Faragher, 35, originally from Llanddulas , has invested in a huge increase in the capacity of the brewery.
They have gone from a half barrel system to a new 10 barrel brew house, taking the weekly pint production from 480 to 7,200.
Dave said: “This completely changes the scale of what we can do and also allows us to experiment more, increasing the range of beers we can produce here and expanding the draught side.

“We were turning away business in the past because we could not keep up with demand but now that will change and we are actively looking for more pubs to take on our beers.

“We want to bring some new beers that people will not have had in North Wales like Rhubarb Berliner Weisse.
“We will be doing one off beers that we can try out with our first about to launch, a Dry Hop American Wheat. We have 10 of these lined up.

“There is just me and my wife here at the moment but we have just had an ad in for a brewery assistant and we have had 40 applications which is amazing.
“We don’t need anyone with experience so this is an ideal opportunity for someone to come here and learn about brewing.”

We had lunch at the Skip today for the first time and really enjoyed the experience.   The window seats gave us an incredible view across the bay and it was nice just watching so many people enjoying the beach and the water sports.
We all settled for the Plaice which was delicious and afterwards had a coffee.    It has a very relaxing atmosphere and the staff were good so it all made for a good first impression.

What a relief! So pleased you enjoyed it. I would have felt awful if you hadn't.
We like it for all the reasons you described and especially the viewing position.

Another return visit to the Seahorse last Friday, and another fantastic meal from Don and team. Smoked Salmon in a Whisky & Dill dressing for starters, Duck with oriental plum sauce for main, and Creme Brulee for pudding. Excellent!  $dins$

We called at the Toad in Colwyn Bay for lunch today and picked the right time too because later on the place became extremely busy and the staff did well to cope with the number of people arriving.
The £6.00 lunch was as good and tasty as ever and a nice cappuccino finished the lunch off.       $good$

Dave R,  you are a man of Pizza,
As such I recommend you visit the new Johnny Dough restaurant in upper Mostyn St.
It's fantastic, and I'll be a regular.

I'm a big fan of Kava, Orient Express, Poco, and the other 573 coffee shops in the radius of 100 yards from this one.
I wonder if anything different will ever open on our streets again?
Although, to be fair, I know more than most why it's probably a waste of time trying.

It's great to see Providero opening a branch in Llandudno, the one in the Junction was far too small for them.

Llandudno must be approaching over a 100 coffee shops by now, I'd have thought. And the idea that tiny, speciality shops that don't flog coffee could thrive in Llandudno's main areas does seem something of a pipe dream.

I suspect the big problem is that we've become used to almost instant gratification. Last week I had to replace an old NiCad drill which was working perfectly, but the NiCads no longer held a charge.  For the same price as the cost of replacing the batteries I was able to get a new Bosch 18v Li2, as well as its smaller brother. The interesting bit was that Amazon was out of stock of the smaller model, but B & Q had it in stock for the same price, so B & Q benefited. The 18v model, however, was in stock and arrived the day after the order was placed.

I suppose we want everything yesterday, now, and the likes of Amazon has conditioned us into simply accepting that fact. The only small shops I suspect can survive are anything to do with food - such as specialist confectioners - and possibly service industry shops, such as repair shops or video transfer and editing studios. But the days of the small non-food retailer on the high street have gone, I suspect. And I find that sad.

Not sure I understand the business plan of Sinatra's on Madoc St.

From the outside it looks like a trendy wine and cocktail bar... yet it has been closed every evening this week. Not sure about weekend opening hours but surprising to me it shuts up shop at 5pm.

Exclusive for ladies who lunch?

The Gresh was serving quite late Wrex, and also there's always The Asia or the Emperor until at least 11pm

Lovely pizza in Johnny Dough's on Saturday night - really cracking. No fannying about with any thing else either, which I like. Pizza or bust, good selection of local drinks too.

After that had a few pints in the Gresham watching the live music - which was okay but the place seemed quiet.
