Fester will hate me for saying this but earlier this year we visited the Bengal Dynasty for their Sunday Buffet and enjoyed it.

As a result, we must have returned about half a dozen times without any problems whatsoever.

But Bri, there is a reason why The Asia don't do a £7, 'eat all you like' Sunday Buffet.

We did try that Sunday buffet last year, it was 'truly terrible'

What did you think of The Asia, Bri? Can you compare?

To be honest, Fester, I haven’t been there since it was called the Great Wall.

BTW, the cost of the buffet in Bengal Dynasty is now £8.95 which may help explain why it has improved since you went last year.

In which case Bri, you should try The Asia, it is as good as ANY of the best Indian restaurants in the UK.
The quality of the ingredients and authentic dishes is first class, the range of different choices is endless.

You would never go to The Bengal Dysentry (as some call it) ever again.

I think the customer service at the Bengal is far superior.

The floor looks somewhat grim ! :o

Walked past the back of Wetherspoons in Llandudno earlier and noticed they are seeking to vary their existing alcohol licence so they may serve alcohol from 8am every day of the week.

I wonder is there a demand locally?

Only amongst hardened alcoholics, I would imagine. Are J D Wetherspoon so lacking in corporate responsibility that they need to make a few extra pounds from the dregs of society?

In today’s Pioneer, I notice that Asda in Llandudno Junction has applied on the 29 August to vary its licence to sell alcohol from 06.00am – 24.00 am, Monday to Sunday.

I don't know whether it is still the case, but in and around Covent Garden and the Docklands they had special licensing hours so that the workers could have a bevy in the early hours through to the afternoon.  It is said that it is possible to drink all day in the metropolis if you follow the trail from one place to another.  Never tried it myself!   :D

That's an interesting move given that they only (currently) open between 08.00am - 22.00pm.

Every Restaurant in town has its ups and downs and how good they are is dependant on their current chief. Having tried both Bengal Dynasty and Asia in the near past I would say Asia's standards have slipped somewhat and the Bengal Dynasty have upped their game. So after all that I've come to the conclusion it's subjective Fester, you will just have to take your OH out for another meal in both and then give us another appraisal.  ££$

I see Mr. B's cafe, bistro, bar restaurant must be about to open in the old Pars restaurant and is advertising for staff in the pioneer this week.  It goes on to say the owners have many years experience in running gastro pubs, bistros and have extensive food knowledge.   ££$

I was looking at that sign yesterday, sounds promising. They're certainly making a big effort, the building has been gutted internally.

I understand it was not in agood state inside.  Apparently it has a huge basement too, but it would need a lot of money spending in it before it was habitable!
