Independent, they already operate other cafes in the area.

Is there a clue there somewhere?   :D

There's some pictures of their food on their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/OinkysDiner.  Certainly looks like a place to go for a bit of stodge.

The pictures of the eggs in the first two pictures, confirms my words!  ZXZ

See what you mean Yorkie--- I loathe fried eggs, even though I cook them most days, those look gross.

Yesterday we were in a local cafe and a woman entered with a small pooble type dog.  It was not a guide or hearing dog.   What do readers think about dogs being allowed in cafes?  Of course it got fed titbits from the table!   $dins$

I don't think dogs, other than guide dogs, are permitted in cafes?

It seems that the hygiene regulations place the onus on the proprietor as whether dogs (or indeed any animals) are allowed on the premises.    I have no objection to Guide or Hearing Dogs providing they are well behaved, as they invariably are, but as much as I like dogs, inside cafes are not the place to take them.   >>>

That's right.  The polarisation of opinions on the subject is fascinating, Many folk think having dogs in a cafe is abhorrent, while many would be happy sharing their plates with them.

I always have to do a second take in Europe where dogs go everywhere with their owners, shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels.

Again alot of this discussion boils down to behaviour. A well behaved dog sitting under a table in a cafe would appeal more to alot of people than a badly behaved child running round screaming !
Sharing a plate-- no that is not on, but as Yorkie says it is up to the cafe or shop owner as to whether he/she permits the entry of dogs.
As a dog owner I can see both sides of this, no one wants a smelly, wet, badly behaved dog in a cafe, but when away from home it can be very awkward, especially in hot weather what to do with your pet when needing food for yourself. Cafe's with outside terraces are ideal !

In my tiny kiosk, I regularly get customers with guide dogs, they are more than welcome.
Other small, well behaved dogs are equally welcomed if the owner asks me.

What REALLY hacks me off is when people just assume that their horrible hound can just come in uninvited.
Then the thing bounds around excitedly, knocking things over, jumping up at me and trying to lick my hand or face.
''Oh don't worry, our little tiddles is just being playful''

To me, our little tiddles is a disease ridden menace, and I would willingly pay the bill to have it put humanely to sleep.

And what about the owner?

Really Fester---- I hope your missis never gets the dog that she would like. I pity the poor thing.
