Linda - I remember Margaret Lacey well- she taught me ballet and ballroom dancing - a Lovelly lady :)

White Rabbit ,Yes she was and very talented. I had got as far as my teachers exams for Ballet and was trying to gain more, but my children were tiny and it meant being away from them so much and travelling, so i gave it up. Still a wonderful experience and met some lovely people. Margaret Lacy was a very interesting Lady and her life had been so full , she had met so many famous folk.

Was Margaret Lacey the lady who appeared in the James Bond film 'Diamonds Are Forever'?

She was also in that film that was on location in Llandudno and on the Pier, set during the WW2. I will research the Title as i cant remember off hand.

The IMdb list, though quite extensive, does not include some of her films.  She was in John Schlesinger's "Terminus" (1961) - in a small scene although her voice seems dubbed as is the case with everyone in this semi-documentary of a day in the life of Waterloo station. She also appeared as an art mistress in one of the 1950s "St Trinians" films. Schlesinger apparently held her in regard and included her in minor parts in most of his films.

Some years ago Angharad Rees and her then husband took Margaret to Holywood to fulfil a lifelong wish.  A documentary was made of this visit which appeared on TV here.  Possibly this coincided with her appearance in Magnum.

That's the one Dave.  Cazenove was married to Angharad Rees at the time.  I also just remembered that Margaret played the old girl with the collecting tin at the start of The Great St Trinian's Train Robbery which was on TV last week. She has some dialogue with another North Walian actor, Meredith Edwards.
