Just having a refreshing cup of tea in Caffe Nero after a hard day's photographing over on the Lleyn Peninsula - very busy in here.

Popped in there with the Mrs this afternoon just to have a coffee and see what the place had to offer.  Very busy but despite the crowd managed to say hello to a Forum Member and another couple of friends.

One complaint (there has to be one)  - Can't sample the upper floor due to the stairs - wonder if they will create a disabled access.  Fortunately we found a downstairs table!    Z**

Nice coffee and at a reasonable price for a High Street location.    D)

I enjoyed a coffee and my missus a hot chocolate this afternoon in Caffe Nero.

We sat downstairs and just to the left when you first walk in.

Both drinks were very nice indeed.

However, my missus reminded how I have always not wanted to look like a dummy in Burton’s window and guess what...........?

I was also in there this afternoon (must have just missed you, Bri) and another two forum members walked in as I sat down. We shall have to start holding Forum Meetups in there at this rate...  8)

Apparently Costa are now opening in town, either in the old JD Sports shop or could be Burger King.

As far as Costa is concerned, there is already one in Parc Llandudno.... but the new one will be a franchise in the redeveloped Clarence Hotel, (Travel Lodge).   Or so I hear??

Well, any quality business moving in is a good thing and Llandudno has always had lots of cafes and coffee shops, like most seaside resorts.

Would the concession in Travel Lodge not be rather large? I was under the impression two businesses were moving in there (a shop and a restaurant), so where would the Costa go? Inside the reception?

I think that Gimbert's becoming a coffee shop would be acceptable. I think Upper Mostyn Street should move over to a hospitality/nightime economy. I know there are complaints from residents, but better to have things like that in one area and there has been a concentration of pubs up there for decades.

Is it Frankie and Benney's going into the BK? I think I read that somewhere perhaps upthread. What does the Nero's look like from the outside and in? Good quality? I don't live in Llandudno itself, so haven't seen it so far.

I don't believe the former Burger King has the floor space for a Frankie and Bennies. Their units are normally purpose built and are able to service a significantly large footfall.
They prefere out of town retail parks which provide sufficient car parking.
