I am led to understand that they are having problems with one particular chef at the moment... it needs sorting.

But, 95% of the time, the food is most excellent (as you well know)

Mrs R went to Fat Cat tonight and thoroughly enjoyed her evening.

She very much enjoyed the set £11.95 menu with a cocktail and said the portions were enormous.

I was under the impression that without a new fire escape the majority of the rooms can't be used.  They must be investing quite a hefty sum, I hope it does well too.

Where are all the local 'characters' going to drink now? Where's Martin Leary going to host his Karaoke?

RIP Alexandra.  :'(

Not sure Fester, I have not been in there in ages. He normally has a suntan and wears sleeveless T-shirts.

I understand that one of Conwy's most best known restaurants, the Clemence, is up for sale.

I have to be honest they do the best cooked breakfast in Conwy.  It's falling to bits inside though.  Many a time we've been in and there has been buckets on tables due to burst pipes.  The decoration is really poor with peeling wallpaper and tired and tatty furnishings.  Although I'm not put off going in there I can see why others would be. The Clemence is to restaurants what the prawn cocktail, sirloin steak and black forest is to fine dining, stuck quite firmly in the 1980s.

Yes... I once got sucked in to The Clemence by a sign saying 3 Courses for £4.99

I left an hour or so later thinking,  yep, I got about £4.99's worth..... reminiscent of school dinners.

I agree, I've never been in. Great location, though.

It's £70k for the goodwill/fittings of the business and then £25k a year rent. Good opportunity for someone.

That's pretty good.  It's quite large inside I would guess on probably 100 covers?
