IT IS HOPED a post office service can be resorted 'permanently' in Conwy town. ref Pioneer
The Post Office, on Lancaster Square, closed at the end of January in 2020. This followed the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
The Conwy Tourist Information Centre stepped in to offer the Post Office a home and set up a 'pop up' service.
Now it is hoped the Post Office can move to Spar on 15 High Street.
A spokesperson for the Post Office said: "We are keen to restore a permanent service to this community as soon as possible so we have decided to go ahead with our plans.
"However, we welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change, particularly regarding accessibility and anything we can do to make life easier for customers."
The Post Office want to install the service as early as Friday, June 18.
Conwy Post Office will have new opening hours, Monday to Sunday 7am – 11pm.
The spokesperson added: "This will offer 112 hours of Post Office service a week, making it much more convenient for customers to visit.
"A wide range of products and services would still be available."
Customers of main UK banks will be able to access accounts at new branch
Services will include bill payment, cash withdrawals and foreign currency, postage, home shopping collections and returns.
The public are invited to make comments about the relocated branch proposal. These can be emailed to comments@postoffice.co.uk or telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
The replacement temporary service, at Conwy Tourist Information Centre, will cease on Thursday, June 17 at 5pm.
