Earlier in the season I was complaining about the amount of Dandelions I had in the garden this year and that they had such a short stem that the mower blades often missed them but today I noticed something different.        I still have a lot of them but they all have long stems, ideal for the mower but not today as it's far too hot to go outside.
When I do mow the grass I'm careful not to mow the Common Spotted Orchid that has grown in the lawn.      A few years ago I did move one Orchid to the relative safety of a border at the back of the garden and it has been doing well but yesterday I saw that it had been trampled on by our dog Teddy but it will survive

It will arrive at Chester from Liverpool Lime Street at 11.27am, and depart at 12.16pm.

The locomotive will pass through Shotton at around 12.29pm, Flint at 12.33pm, Prestatyn at 12.47pm and Rhyl at 12.51pm.

It will then pass through Colwyn Bay at around 1.02pm and will stop at Llandudno Junction at about 1.10pm - before departing half an hour later.

Llandudno residents divided over council's library switch
The decision has prompted a mixed response and exposed a broader problem of local governance and resource allocation

Everyone I have spoken to about the Library moving to Venue Cymru thinks that it is a bad idea.   Are you in favour of it Dave because you may live in Craig Y Don?      You've raised a good point though and I wish that someone could explain to the people of Llandudno just why the Library should be moved.

Tiny 'Lonely Tree' vies with UK giants to be crowned Britain's best
The iconic birch may not have many more chances to win Tree of the Year

A small, slightly bedraggled tree next to a Gwynedd lake is in the running to be crowned the UK’s most iconic. The Lonely Tree of Llanberis is easily the smallest and youngest in this year’s Tree of the Year competition but it has quickly become one of the most photographed in Britain.

Perched over pebbles in Llyn Padarn, and framed by Eryri’s mountains, the young birch has survived against the odds to become a cherished local landmark.
When I first heard about the Sycamore Gap tree being felled by a couple of mindless morons my thoughts were with this tree and hope that it didn't meet the same fate

It may be just me but has anyone else had difficulty trying to open the tops of plastic bottles nowadays.?      i tried to open the plastic top of a bottle of water this week and it just wouldn't come off.      I kept trying again and my hand was sore so I gave it up and left the bottle unopened.
Later in the day I got a pair of pliers out and that eventually worked.
I did try opening other water bottles and they opened ok after a bit of an effort but why do the manufacturers make things so difficult now?

I personally don't see the problem of moving the library to the theatre site.I rarely use the library, likewise the theatre. Maybe someone can enlighten me as to why it shouldn't be moved?

... and I guess that we are paying for the asylum seekers to be there.

... today's "one for one" deal sounds like a good move, for Macron.
