Well done Dave, you're spot on with the answer           A question is only easy if you know the answer

Thanks too Cambrian for posting all that info on the Parish Boundary stones as a lot of local people are not aware of them

For anyone that is interested in local history, the Deganwy History Group have got a fantastic website that is really good and worth reading.   More information and photos of these stones can be found on their website under the heading " The deserving poor of Eglwysrhos"

https://www.deganwyhistory.co.uk/research_articles/parish-boundary-stones/

I'll post some more on these boundary stones tomorrow as I'm off to the pub soon

Interesting this.  Readers may have seen a contractors compound has taken over Jackson's Lane outside Queen Elizabeth Court.  The contractors travel from Anglesey.  There are several items of plant - dumper, small hydraulic excavator, etc - on site as well as half a dozen workmen.  They have moved parts of the hedgerow and created what appear to be parking bays in what was, until this week, part of a grassed area inhabited by wild flowers and a couple of trees.  According to one of the workmen, the contract is for "kerb widening" and will be going on for 6 months through the Craig y Don area.  The soil from their activities is being tipped at the boundary with Mostyn Champneys by the pedestrian crossing.

Amazing what public money can be found for given the current collective waving of shrouds from CCBC, Cardiff Bay and Whitehall!

There was about 30 years ago another stone set at right angles to the one opposite the Marine.  Sadly this was obliterated when Aberconwy BC carried out some works.  Luckily, the one shown survived.  The old parish boundary actually runs along the line of the prom so any land seawards of the grass verge is in Llandudno parish as far as the Little Orme.  This is a bit of a puzzle.

There's also one in the grounds of Holy Trinity as the boundary runs through the site and until the changes in the 1930s, the chancel of Trinity was actually in the neighbouring parish of Llanrhos and thus in a separate diocese altogether!

The other one depicted is in Albert Street and the next one is in the verge of St David's Place.  Another is in Bodafon Street.  All the rest seem to have been lost either through development or simply become overgrown thus forgotten.

Llandudno Museum have a similar stone with the letters "CL" marking the boundary between the Conway Liberty and Llanrhos.

Amount UK's richest pay in income tax revealed
A Treasury spokesperson said: “We are addressing unfairness in the tax system so we can raise the revenue to rebuild our public services.

"That is why we are removing the outdated non-dom tax regime and replacing it with a new internationally competitive residence-based regime focused on attracting the best talent and investment to the UK.”
We'll just have to wait an see what happens but there are too many loopholes in the present tax system that help the wealthy avoid paying their fair share of tax

The thing about the super-rich is that they have the flexibility to move home to another country easily should taxation increase. Increasing taxation on super-rich people has a certain appeal to some, but rarely results in an actual increase in tax revenues.

Dave. would you please reveal the location?

I've got some comments to post about the stones but I don't want to post them until the answer is revealed.
It's at the side of the pavement on the prom, across the road from the Marine Hotel.

Snowdon Mountain Railway train 'derails' on Yr Wyddfa
Services were halted after the incident in which no-one was injured on the Clogwyn Loop.     Thank goodness for that as the incident could have been much more serious

Campaigners battling to stop the closure of two air ambulance bases have won the right to put their case before the High Court.

Plans to reorganise the Wales Air Ambulance service would lead to the closure of the bases at Welshpool and Caernarfon, with one new base opening.

The reorganisation was approved by the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) - a group comprising of the seven health boards in Wales - in April.

Solicitors acting on behalf of campaigners have said a full hearing could be heard within two months.

Covid doubles the risk of a heart attack, stroke or dying up to three years later, warns a new study. The danger is even higher among people with blood types A, B or AB who were infected with the virus compared to those with type O, say scientists.

They reviewed health and genetic data from more than 10,000 British adults aged over 50, including around 8,000 who had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus from February 1 to December 31, 2020, and about 2,000 who tested positive for the virus in hospital in 2020.

People urged to 'isolate' if they spot these signs of new Covid XEC strain

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued new advice for people who are feeling unwell, as a new strain of Covid, known as XEC, is thought to be highly transmissible

Over 600 cases have been recorded globally, including 82 confirmed cases within the UK. This comes as Covid cases are on the rise again across the UK, with data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) showing a 21.6 percent increase in England in just one week

In the seven days up to September 25, there were 2,797 recorded cases of Covid - an increase of 530 from the week earlier. In the week up to September 20, there was a 50 percent increase in Covid deaths in England, with 134 recorded.

What to do if you have Covid
Self-isolation rules in the UK are no longer mandatory. But the NHS recommends you try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you have symptoms and either:

Have a high temperature
Or do not feel well enough to go to work, school or do your normal activities
It says: "You can go back to your normal activities when you feel better or do not have a high temperature. If your child has mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat or mild cough, and they feel well enough, they can go to school or childcare."

If you test positive for Covid, the NHS says you should:
Try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for three days after the day the test was taken if you or your child are under 18 years old – children and young people tend to be infectious to other people for less time than adults
Try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for five days after the day you took your test if you are 18 years old or over
Avoid meeting people who are more likely to get seriously ill from viruses, such as people with a weakened immune system, for 10 days after the day you took your test.

Symptoms of XEC are thought to be similar to other strains of Covid and can include:

A high temperature or shivering (chills) – a high temperature means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
A loss of or change to your sense of smell or taste
Shortness of breath
Feeling tired or exhausted
An aching body
A headache
A sore throat
A blocked or runny nose
Loss of appetite
Diarrhoea
Feeling sick or being sick.

PLANS to convert a guesthouse in Llandudno into an aparthotel have been labelled “disingenuous” by the town council planning committee.

Wedgwood Hotel, at 6 Deganwy Avenue, could be converted into an aparthotel after plans were submitted to Conwy County Borough Council.

Kidderminster-based applicant Tom Deacon, of Effective Stays Ltd, has also proposed the hotel’s refurbishment and modernisation.

This would include the construction of a hip to gable roof, an entrance canopy, and a rear dormer.
