                                                              Everton  2     Brighton  0

Everton started Premier League life at their magnificent new stadium on the banks of the River Mersey with their first victory of the season against Brighton.

Jack Grealish was given his first start since his loan move from Manchester City and illuminated a historic day for Everton by playing a key role in the goals that set David Moyes' side on the way to three points.

Grealish's driven cross was turned in by Iliman Ndiaye after 23 minutes, a difficult close-range finish made to look easy.

I'm calling it. That is the game of the season. Week 2. You won't get a better one. Unlucky Newcastle. Congratulations Liverpool and young Rio.

The cost of failure but don't shed any tears for Jose

Jose Mourinho has earned around £90-£100 million in total compensation from being sacked by various clubs, a figure that is still rising after his dismissal from Fenerbahçe in 2025. His major payouts include significant amounts from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham, with his latest compensation from the Fenerbahçe dismissal expected to bring his total severance pay to nearly £100 million.

                                                               Liverpool  FC  1    Arsenal  0

Dominik Szoboszlai's brilliant late free-kick gave Liverpool victory against Arsenal after a hard-fought meeting of the Premier League superpowers at Anfield.

A dour encounter looked to be heading for a draw until the Hungarian curved a magnificent strike past Arsenal keeper from 30 years in front of an exultant Kop after 83 minutes.

Another pitiful Man Utd display - but can Amorim make things better?

Manchester United fan Frank Ilett is refusing a trim until the Red Devils win five in a row... so far it's been nearly a year! A Manchester United fan has gone almost a year without a haircut after pledging not to have a trim until his team won five games in a row

I'm  afraid that the way Man Utd are playing now he's going to be a very old man before Utd win 5 games in a row .   Even Utd's manager said the team is rubbish

                                                         Liverpool  FC  2     Everton  1

Liverpool made it five wins from five as their flawless start to their defence of the Premier League crown continued with victory in the Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield.
I think that this was the 24th time that David Moyes has brought a side to Anfiels and not secured a win there

                                                                Brentford  3    Man Utd  1

At a glance

Igor Thiago puts Brentford 2-0 up in opening 20 minutes

Benjamin Sesko pulls one back with first Manchester United goal

Bruno Fernandes misses second-half penalty for United

Mathias Jensen scores Brentford third in stoppage time

Manchester United fan Frank Ilett is refusing a trim until the Red Devils win five in a row.   I'm afraid that Frank won't be going to the Barber's shop this season
