When and why drivers could be fined at lower speeds on 20mph roads in Wales
Since its introduction a higher than normal threshold was implemented in 20mph zones

I've just come back after walking my dog and the weather conditions are not good       It is damp and the visibility is just like a pea souper and I was walking in a 20 mph zone in a narrow lane and most of the drivers drove within the speed limits but one VW driver didn't slow down as he went past at over 20 mph
I just hope that all the drivers on the A55 drive sensibly because there could be a major accident on that road today         I've looked at the A55 web cam and conditions above Ruallt look pretty grim

The stretch of road between J32A and J33A sees frequent problems. I travel that stretch regularly to and from my volunteering at Greenfield Valley Heritage Park and have had to divert several times on the return as a result of accident/slip road closures. This involves all traffic, including HGVs taking the route up through Rhosesmor and then dropping down onto the Denbigh road. It would be really good if relevant agencies could investigate the reasons for the high number of collisions on what is a relatively short stretch of road.

Hope everyone’s taking care in this continuing cold snap.

Another article mixing up those found guilty in the Llandudno court and actual local figures .............

Britain's drink-driving hotspots revealed in interactive map... so how does YOUR area fare?

The North Wales seaside resort of Llandudno has the second highest drink-driving rate, with 13.1 in every 10,000 drivers being convicted for the offence.

Despite not being near any major motorway networks, the postal catchment area of Llandudno encompasses much of North Wales including the island of Anglesey, where the ferry from Dublin lands in Britain.

A man from Anglesey who recorded what is believed to be one of the highest alcohol readings ever recorded by North Wales Police has been jailed.   He gave a reading of 358milligrames of alcohol in 100ml of blood – the legal limit is 80, a North Wales Police statement said - more than four times the legal limit.
Some people are addicted to alcohol and would drive on the roads again even when they are banned from driving so it's only fair for their own safety and the safety of others that they are jailed.     There are far too many deaths and injuries caused by drink and drug driving in North Wales anyway

Five weeks of misery for A55 drivers during repairs on bridge 'significantly' bent out of shape
The bridge was damaged six years ago

Campaigners have been left aghast by the lack of remedial work both on Primrose Hill Bridge, St George, and Sea Road Bridge, Abergele - the latter being damaged back in 2010. The total cost of having the temporary traffic lights at both locations now stands at almost £260,000. It’s an expense labelled “extortionate” by opposition politicians.

Tourists welcomed to 'Pothole Land' with 'the best examples in whole of Wales'
Visitors are warned to 'proceed with caution' and be aware that 'parking may be difficult'

The unadopted part of Pen Y Bryn Road in Colwyn Bay can compare with this.       I've lived in the road for 38 years and only ventured down there in my car about a dozen times, it's that bad

List of Conwy 20mph roads that could revert to 30mph
Council has announced which roads could have speed limit changed

All the cost and fines involved !       Why wasn't more thought and consideration given before they applied the 20 mph rule?

Seems to me to be a lot of time, and money, being spent on assessing and consultation when, surely, it should be fairly simple to replace the 20 signs with the old 30 ones (if they still have them).  More of our money being spent by the council.

Will they consider refunding the fines for those who were caught at speeds between 20 and 30 ?
