MAN RESCUED: A man was rescued after being found in the water off Llandudno at 1.30am today.

HM Coastguard said the person was discovered yards into the sea off Craig y Don and Llandudno lifeboat was launched.

But police officers go to him first. He was unharmed.

Looking for something else, found this, bits of interest, like below, but you will have to look for them.

Develop our Events Strategy with key stakeholders to maximise the use of our key
assets e.g. water sports, outdoor activities, cultural events, Theatr Colwyn, Venue
Cymru and Parc Eirias.

The Events Strategy is the key document for ensuring this corporate outcome is achieved.
Having a Strategy in place has been fundamental to the success we have had in attracting a
number of events of major significance that have brought valuable economic benefits to the
County. Since 2010 we have attracted events of the S4C Wales Ladies Golf Championships
of Europe, Rally Fest, Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Championships, the
official start of WRGB two years on the run, as well as a special stage on the Great Orme.
Llandudno 10, the Olympic Torch Relay running through the County, Adain Avion, and the
first major music event within Eirias Stadium Access All Eirias. As well as the Wales Seniors
Golf Open, The Snowman Triathlon, Choral Festival, Cerdd Dant, The Eirias’ – a long
distance triathlon time and of course not forgetting the high profile Rugby events such as the
IRB Series and Under 20’s which colleagues in CDS have secured and run very
successfully.
All these fantastic events have increased the profile of the area at a regional, national and
international level. The economic impact analysis that has been done on key events revealed
that for every £1 invested, there is a return of £12.47 in the local economy.
2013 has seen two new events:
World Trail Championship which has been brought to Conwy County because of the
success of the CMUD event. The event attracted competitors from 20 countries.
Tour of Britain passed through North Wales in September for the first time. Both these
events will made use of the rural landscape which is very positive as we have been trying to
attract events that can utilise not just the “honey pots” such as Llandudno and Conwy but
other key areas of the County. We also hosted Wales Rally GB Start and Finish of this
prestigious World Championship in the County. They also did a stage on the Great Orme
and in Gwydir Forest. Again utilising Gwydir is another real positive for the rural economy of
Conwy.
CCBC continues to have excellent working relationships with a number of key event partners
and also has a very good reputation of being a County that will support event organisers to
maximise the potential on major events. This was formally recognised in 2013 when Conwy
County Borough Council was won the National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) Event
Organiser of the Year. We were also awarded jointly with Orchard the promoter for Access
all Eirias Production Partnership of the Year.

Cambrian Rally drops Great Orme from route for first time

FOR the first time in several years the iconic high speed stage around Llandudno's Marine Drive will be omitted from the Cambrian Rally which starts and finishes in the resort on October 18.
The decision not to include the stage in this year's route has been taken by organisers North Wales Car Club because of a problem with securing parking for spectators' vehicles.
Clerk of the course Alyn Edwards said: “The use has been in doubt for several months due the lack of suitable spectator parking facilities on the Orme.
"The land used previously for parking is now for sale and not available.
"As organisers we are very much aware of the support that events using the Great Orme have from local residents and do not wish to create any public relations related issues by running the stage without suitable spectator parking facilities.
"Despite a lot of hard work and effort the organisers have failed to locate a suitable location to park spectators that will satisfy the needs of the event and local residents.
"Without adequate parking facilities spectators may walk over private land in order to reach a suitable viewing location causing annoyance to landowners."
The event will still be able to offer nearly 45 miles of stages with eight forest stages in Conwy county. Further information can be found at www.cambrianrally.co.uk

Mrs S. just returned from her exercise class and came across an accident, man knocked off his bike lying in the road shaking and in pain, with  3 or 4 people standing around doing nothing, she took her coat off, made him comfortable, held his head in position and asked if they had called the services, she was told by one guy, he was on hold, after a while she asked who he had called, he said the police, she said what number, he said.... on 101.!!
I would have thought in this day and age people would know better,  &shake&    &shake&

Having just had all the excellent TV coverage of the Great Orme on the Tour of Britain it's seems absolutely ridiculous not to find a way of including it in the Cambrian Rally.
Which bit of parking land is up for sale anyway and whose private property gets walked across ?
