Well said Linda, that bears out my point on the tourism thread perfectly, as did the comments of the very few customers I had today.  Those who were staying in hotels close to North Parade, but were barred from doing so.

Glad you said it, as I am accused of being negative about events when I say it.

Now, something else I witnessed in astonishment today.
Outside the Grand Hotel, an elderly man was forced to park on the 'double yellows' outside the doors to offload his cases.
This is because ALL parking spaces had been coned off, as had the coach unloading area for The Grand.
As he went inside, the CCBC parking man swooped..... and TICKETED the poor old sod's car!!
Welcome to Llandudno eh?   It made me sick.   $angry$ $angry$

That is completely unfair! Hope he appeals against it!

He should definitely appeal.  And I think he has the right to park for a few moments to unload, doesn't he?

Church Walks will be closed from 1pm till 8pm today. What happens if you wish to access your Hotel there? I reckoned on almost 20 businesses affected ???

Indeed. Whilst I'm all in favour of events such as the Triathlon, the needs of local residents and businesses must also be taken into account. I'm hoping the Marshals will be flexible enough to deal with all the people wishing to access properties/hotels etc.

From past experience-- it makes life very difficult ! They were very bolshie with my OH last year when he tried to get home in the car . It seems we were cut off in all directions.

Just been down to the prom with the dog-- I hope they make some 'crossing places' for people to get from the road across to the beach side of the prom. There seem to be alot of elderly folk strolling up and down, at present there are ways through the maze of barriers-- but later???

Ask any Councillor, Town or County and they will tell you we are a load of ungrateful morons.  They all appear to be under the misguided impression that they have done the town a favour!   $angry$

My OH walked the dog down to the prom this p.m and was chatting to the Promenade Inspector. When asked why his deckchairs were still wrapped up the answer was that there wasn't enough room for them and he had been told not to hire them out. :o

I shall refrain to comment.

It's great to see Llandudno so thriving. It's noticeably very different to the Isle of Man which was, well, very quiet last weekend by comparison. Tonight Mr and Mrs Mersey_dub are in residence at the Malborough, listening to the dulcet tones of Mr Punch (that's the way to do it!) . Tonight it's Arthur and Peg Wignall's 70th Anniversary party in town !! Just hope the weather's good tomorrow- fancy a stroll around town to cure the hangover   :P

When so many hotels have 'no vacancies' signs up, that in itself is a sign of success. Most enjoyable stay , beautiful, clean, fresh Llandudno. Really hope to be back soon! (good fry-up at breakfast this morning, would cure any hangover!)
