Thanks for the pics all-- it looked a great display.
Can't say the same for your monkfish Hollins--  ;D-- I really dislike fish, so that made me feel faintly queasy. Glad you enjoyed it though.!

O'h no Nemesis, sorry about that!
I can't comment on your question Ian because that was the first display we have ever seen.
We were stood by the camera obscura and everyone up there was so friendly.
A special thanks to the kind man that switched his phone on so that the light from it lit up the steps for my 86 year old mother to safely climb down.

We watched a display of fireworks from our upstairs bedroom with a nice plate of Sausage and Mash with my own fabulous Onion Gravy, from a tray on our laps.   We watched all the small family displays in the local area and they were every bit as exciting as the Council's presentation.   ZXZ

Does that include a "cover" charge?     D)

It's amazing that any shops remain open with such high overheads as that!  :o

On a 6 day week that's £250 a day come rain or shine!  Add on Staff, Heating, Lighting, Insurance, Stock-losses, repairs and renewals, plus cleaning, phone and a dozen other bits and pieces and you have got to turn over a tidy sum before there is a penny piece of profit.

There is little encouragement for anyone to start in the Retail business these days.   :(

I noticed that new street lights are currently being installed on Llewelyn Avenue. Shiny aluminium posts with what looks like metal halide lamps. Given CCBC's current obsession with upvc windows in Conservation Areas, how do they justify such modern street lighting in the same streets?

Strikes me it doesn't matter if CBC does it !

Nice mention on the one show last night'rickshaw challenge for children in need,a group of children are riding a richshaw from llandudno to london,we need to find out were they are leaving from and when

'Team Rickshaw' will be made up of  six youngsters, all of whom have been either supported by or still are supported by BBC Children in Need-funded projects. They will embark on the arduous journey on the morning of Friday 9 November from Llandudno and will attempt to complete the marathon 411-mile journey in eight days, arriving at BBC Television Centre for The One Show's BBC Children in Need special on Friday 16 November on BBC One.

Does anybody have an further information on this?

I can find nothing in today’s NWWN and the Pioneer says it leaves today from the Pier Gates.

I can believe it leaves from the Pier Gates but I think it may leave tomorrow and not today.

I understand Matt Baker from The One Show is also involved.

The website to look at is http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008dk4b/features/rickshaw-2012-about

Says it leaves Friday 9th, but does not give a time. They need to be in Dolgellau by about 7pm to be seen arriving on the show.
