This may not be far from the truth, have a look at the make up of the "Executive Group" on the Fire Service website.

Rhyl is in Denbighshire; the chair of the Authority (and chair of the Executive) is a Denbighshire Cabinet Member from Prestatyn!

The vice-chair is from Anglesey.

Rhyl and Bangor are proposed to keep their aerial ladders.

This is entirely coincidental.

Well done for spotting this, Cambrian, and also for bringing this amazing coincidence into the public domain.  *&(

The chairman was bought up in Llandudno ,she went to John Brights, but she now lives in Meliden so Rhyl will have her vote.We need some sado to count all the tall builings in all three towns, although those by the tram station must be the tallest(flats) so that has to go in our favour. If Lord Rogers is on the top floor he has no chance of being rescued by the time the ladder arrives from Rhyl.

Why is this town so pathetic?  Everything is falling apart and we just shrug our shoulders and wait, and wait..........  Wonder if Alex Salmond has a clone who could not only shake us up but also Wales as a whole.  Complacency grrrrr.

What a lovely sunny day it was today, such a change from the gloom of recent weeks.I was able to sit outside the West Shore cafe and enjoy the sunshine and views this afternoon, whilst nursing a finger injury caused by a swan bite!

"whilst nursing a finger injury caused by a swan bite!"

Isn't that one of those cider and Guinness drinks?

Just spotted Huw Edwards being filmed on the Tram up the Orme. Has anyone any ideas of any forthcoming TV series he might be making, that we can look out for?

He is currently filming 'The Story Of Wales' for the BBC

Series starts Monday 27th February

It seems both Nant-y-Gamar Road and Queens Road are to be recommended for housing (65 and 120 houses). This will cause a fight from a number of people, but I can't help but think that other towns (the Junction, Rhos etc) have had to accept large numbers of houses over recent years and Llandudno should accept its burden of the local housing allocation.

It's testament to the popularity and beauty of the area that people want to live here and many of those who complain live in houses that people probably complained about when they were built in the past (and many are probably from out of the area anyway). I don't advocate unrestricted development, but if we took the line that farmland should never be built on, even if it abuts an urban area, then we would never have built Liddell Park, Penrhyn Beach, Gloddaeth Woods, Maenan Road, Redrow, all within the last 30-40 years. Go back 25 years and there were huge protests about Conwy Marina and how it was an awful development that locals couldn't afford etc. But who would be without it now?

With Bodafon, I think the rest should be protected, but that acre or so behind Ysgol Gogarth would be more of an infill and be quite discreet I think.

The trouble is that the town's boundaries will go ever closer to Llanrhos/Deganwy and the settlements will coalesce.  May not happen in our lifetimes but we need to think of the future.

How about a park/place for events along the front strip of Bodafon Fields adjoining the Prom, with houses in the fields at the rear?

I think the front of Bodafon would be perfect for events. We could have things like Radio 1's Big Weekend or other similar things (Weston-super-Mare has big beach concerts on its front). It would help bring people in for the weekend and also help make Llandudno a more inviting place for young people.

The town does have an older image, and it would be a great marketing tool to have younger, urban people who might come and then think 'wow, this is lovely and would be perfect for a weekend or a base for a walking holiday in Snowdonia'. Maybe even classical/opera concerts a la Glyndebourne? Summer's evening, picnics, classical music overlooking the bay, it would be perfect! Even the oldies couldn't complain about that kind of event!

Around 25 years ago, Mostyn Estates expressed an interest in building an indoor flat green bowls centre in that area on condition that they were allowed to build a housing estate on the remaining fields.

I can remember Mr Caldwell telephoning me to invite me into his boardroom to view the plans.

As for the Radio 1 Roadshow, I can see events of that nature always being staged in the new arena at Parc Eirias in future.

The Daily Post reports today that the mother has died and that one son is still critically ill.
