I think the Tinsel and Turkey holidays are GREAT!
I know that my Mum looks forward to going on them every year.
Every other year is Llandudno for her.... and the hotels are buzzing with merriment every night.

The old biddies also potter around the town spending money, and generally making the place busier during the day in the months of Oct / Nov / Dec.
Even when the weather is lousy they make the best of it.

Neither is it even restricted to people of a certain age ... I can see the appeal of being royally entertained, fed and looked after for four nights, for about £179 all in!

Don't knock Tinsel and Turkey,  its good for the town, and makes old souls very happy.

It's the idea of pretending its Christmas Day in October that freaks me out.  :o :o :o

Well there you go I've learned something else. I now live in a town that celibrates "Christmas" in October. Certainly explains why I kept seeing Santa in the Grand Hotel when I was just about to buy a house this time last year.

Don't forget "Twix'tmas" the period between Christmas and New Year. Sounds like a good way of filling up the hotels at an otherwise very quiet time of year.

My husband is a darlin, he's already started getting pressies, he made me laugh the other day he came in with 4 boxes of wine and I've been told NOT to touch them even if my mates are here and we can't be bothered to go to spar!! He's made me sit down and write a xmas pressie list. He's very organised. )*)&

I'm quite happy doing everything a couple of weeks before but he can't be doing with the chaos. <:>

Pendragon ... its YOU that is funny ...   and I've just read your other postings about discipling kids (on Conwy thread) .. hilarious.  L0L L0L

Ever thought about being a councillor?  You'll tie them in knots.

Medz ... All seaside towns run Tinsel and Turkey holidays,  thats why my Mum and her pals go to a different destination every other year!
Take a look on the web,  you can book them everywhere.  Not all hotels do it, Prestige ones like The Empire and The Imperial don't need to.
But .. The Marlborough is already fully booked for NEXT years Tinsel and Turkey weeks,  and very little availability for 2012 !!!

I'm not sure I'm that comfortable with women having their own opinions....
Please don't let my wife know that this practise goes on.

Hell, you'll be wanting to vote next.

I am now walking daily past an hotel which is fully trimmed for the silly season and it's not on the prom either. Gives me a dose of the 'glooms'

T & T weeks keep the town going at this time of year. And the visitors love them.
