Yes it was!!!
The golden age of motoring was revived in the Penryhn Bay / Rhos district.
Did you see those 3 Forum members bombing around, with the wind in thier ''hair''?

The Pier was closed this afternoon although it was sunny and calm on the main section. Odd way to run a business.

In response, I have to say that when I opened my kiosk at 10.30am today the wind was really very bad, and I lost some stock to damage. But the cafe and arcade were open and staffed.
I had a couple of very brave customers, but it was a real ordeal to struggle up the pier.
When the instruction to close up and leave the pier came at about Noon, it was a relief because the winds were nightmarish at that stage. Most definitely dangerous to the elderly or infirm.
The wind may have slackened off in the afternoon, I'm not sure... but by then the decision to send the staff home was made.

When I worked on the Pier, I sometimes had to go up to the Pierhead Pavilion in the Winter and it could be so rough that you had to hold on to the handrail as you walked up in order to prevent getting blown off your feet. As I've said before, you could also feel the Pierhead building rocking gently as each wave passed underneath.

It was the worst wind that I have ever opened the shop in.
It was quite scary each time a massive gust hit the side and front of the kiosk.
In fact it felt like damage was imminent at any moment.
You know I hate closing, but as I said before, it was quite a reief today to be instructed to do so.

We enjoyed a return transatlantic crossing to New York on QM2 in August 2008.

Sailing under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and then past the Statue of Liberty at 5am were sights never to be forgotten.

Absolutely wonderful.
