It's the hottest day of the year so far (24degrees) and a cold beer outside the Fat Cat is very pleasant.  $good$

Just spent a pleasant break in Llandudno. The weather helps, of course, but it is one of my favorite seaside towns. It is showing the effects of the recession, with more than a few empty shops in the town centre, but it still has a lot going for it. Some great pubs - the Kings Arms, the Queen Victoria, the Cottage Loaf........and I had a great meal at the Lilly on West Shore. No gripes, really, although 2.50 to drive round the Orme came as a bit of a shock.

As locals, you probably don't appreciate what you've got, which is one of the best resorts in the UK. Don't knock it!

Most people are quite happy to pay the £2.50 Toll to enjoy one of the most interesting experiences that Llandudno has to offer.    Marine Drive has been a Toll Road since 1878 or thereabouts and all the income is ringfenced and used to maintain the facility.   The Toll Fee also covers parking charges at the Summit so one does get double value.

If you have a relative buried on the Orme, the Council issue a Cemetery Pass free of charge to relatives of the intered person.  Annual Season Tickets are also available at a very reasonable cost.

If one's desire is ONLY to drive round, then many would still consider the fee good value.  :D

I noticed today that the flower display at the Boulevard roundabout had been reduced in size by about 70% and the rest of the area grassed over. Looks pretty rubbish now.  :(
