Run out of golf related puns, so will post this photo of the pier taken on Thursday which sums up the 'end of the season' feeling, I think:

There is more at work here than just end of season though ..
Because just look at the weather .. it was glorious,  but very few people in town,  and even less spending.

Let us not under-estimate the crushing effect of this recession (depression??) .. which will get only worse next year with HIGHER unemployment and HIGHER VAT rates...

I won't starve, (I don't think??) .. but brace yourselves for more and more empty shops...pubs etc..

Yes - it's not a particularly cheery outlook as we toddle our collective way towards the festive season, is it?

Gosh, I'm glad Fester didnt spot my mistake in my post.He would have had a good laugh. I should have written "Right hand drive bus."      Everything that drives around Paris is left hand drive!!!!!  It was only at 2 o'clock in the middle of the night I realised what I had written Mike

Fester is not that observant, nor that pedantic ....
Nor is he brave enough to DRIVE around Paris.

 8)  Llandudno today looked very busy and how nice too see. This of course does not mean we stop trying too improve the town like our beloved councillors. ££$

For that, you need a navigator like my wife. "The only thing I ask," I said, "is don't take me anywhere near Paris!"

Ten minutes later, as I drove down the Champs-Élysées, the thoughts of what I might do if we ever escaped are unprintable...

Even worse, just yards away, the Arch de Triumph.  That is a sight for sore eyes if you are driving. In passing I would just mention that it is believed by everyone that you are automatically uninsured when you enter this roundabout. When a bump occures (whivh happens many times a day) the gendarmarie take details (maybe) and both drivers are treated equally responsible. No argument, makes no difference who you are or what happened---its 50-50 and you pay half

I think the Arc de Triomphe is more lethal than Hyde Park.  Certainly, there was the same feeling of impending doom I remember as we entered both, although not on the same day, it has to be said.  >?>??

Santander is pretty hairy, especially when one of the huge ferries is chucking out cars with drivers who
a)don't know where they are going and
b) have never driven on the wrong side of the road before.
Usually another lot are arriving there to get on the ferries to sail home.
Chaos !
Mad, Bad and Dangerous to know.
