Not what a lot of people wanted to hear, I read the article in the Pioneer earlier, and that seemed more informative, but still the same result, I did like the idea of increasing the inner sea wall height though.

Reading the link again it seems that if blame is to be apportioned then we should be looking nearer home.      The incompetence of the CCBC has got us in to this situation and if any Councillor who voted for the sea defences at the North and West Shores are still on the Planing Committee then perhaps they should consider resigning from their position.    Those Councillors by their errors of judgment have cost the County millions of pounds.
Quote from the link
The option most widely supported by residents, visitors, business owners and the previous local authority administration is to see the sand that has been covered by thousands of tonnes of quarry stone restored.

?It is clear that, once again, the Welsh Labour Government, in Cardiff Bay, is failing the people of Aberconwy and North Wales.

?They have simply chosen to ignore the need of our tourism sector here.

This may seem a simple solution, but could they not "re-position" the boulders to form groynes extending out into the bay at regular intervals.

Removing the boulders could (should?) reveal the sand - and if not enough then Colwyn Bay seems to have found a good source for the stuff.

But I know nothing about civil engineering - perhaps I should be on the Planning Committee!

I have heard that although the new restrictions on Gloddaeth Ave. have helped, they have realised that the previous restricted side streets are not being enforced, and parking of these vehicles has increased, please note council members.

I didn't quite know which board to put this on so here goes. In last Saturday's edition of the I newspaper (the mini Independent) there was a full page on Llandudno as a holiday resort. It was good coverage and featured the places to visit, restaurants etc. It was very positive and spoke well of the town.

Fed-up residents sick of motorhomes parking by homes and beaches - with possible 'win-win' solution
The county council is considering whether to expand motorhome facilities to ease problems and boost the local economy

In a bid to find solutions, an online workshop for residents was hosted by Conwy Council on Friday. At the heart of the issue is a shortage of suitable parking, the potential income available and the impact on local campsites.

When the residents? workshop was announced on Facebook, it unleashed a torrent of concern over the activities of some visitors. ?Campervan parked outside my house tonight with two men in!? said one woman. ?Told them earlier they couldn?t stay overnight but they?re still there.?

A former campervan owner sympathised. ?It?s the same as where my sister lives on the Little Orme (in Llandudno). People just assume you can park in front of houses, across drives and on pavements,? she said.

The new 'Welsh Riviera' beach has left jealous neighbouring resort asking 'where's our sand'
Rhos-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay seafronts have been transformed with thousands of tonnes of sand but Llandudno's North Shore remains rocky

The Councillors for Llandudno and Colwyn Bay are on the same Planning Committee at CCBC so why has Llandudno lost out to Colwyn Bay?
The Councillors of Llandudno are a disgrace and there is no other word for it.    There is no pride or passion amongst them and when it comes to a controversial matter they will either abstain from voting or just not turn up for that crucial meeting that may be important for Llandudno.
So many crucial mistakes and no common sense or logic attached to their decisions.     Take the West Shore for instance, building that sea defence in 1993 and that cycle track, then there is the saga of the Penmorfa Hotel
Then there is the North Shore where they dumped all that quarry waste. no wonder the Welsh Office are digging their heels in.    If the Councillors had not made that ill fated decision to dump the quarry waste then Llandudno may have had a more favorable decision from the Welsh Office

Eyesore site next to a retail park in Llandudno tipped for unit go-ahead
The site opposite Parc Llandudno has already been cleared and planners have recommended approval of a new showroom

The redevelopment of an eyesore site opposite Parc Llandudno has been tipped to move ahead. The land on the corner of Argyll Road in Llandudno had previously housed a health clinic.

This was closed by the health board and the clinic building was later demolished. Plans were submitted last year by Mostyn Estates to develop a car showroom on the site. It would house Honda and Kia brands.

Now planning officers are recommending the scheme gets approved by councillors. The planning committee was due to meet on Wednesday to discuss the proposal but this meeting has been postponed following the death of the Queen.

WE asked Pioneer readers what they thought was the one thing missing from Llandudno town centre, and these were some of their thoughts.

Marissa Williams believes one welcome addition would be a market, adding that ?as Llandudno is a holiday resort a Saturday Market is a great thing and lots of holidaymakers love a good market to wander around ? it would be lovely to buy meat, fruit, fish and local produce?.

Jane Bradley called for an ice rink or roller skating rink, with Katie Warburton echoing these thoughts and calling for a dance hall and sea life centre.

Bethan Wynne-Jones feels that ?craft guild centres? and independent stores are needed, while Martin Adams backed the independent route, calling for a ?decent record store that also sells clothing, games and music/movie memorabilia, but not HMV!?
