If this goes through, will Hondo move, leaving their old site suitable for a new development ?

Eyesore site opposite Llandudno retail park could be redeveloped under plan
An application has been submitted to build on land left empty after a former health clinic was demolished

Now plans have been put in by Mostyn Estates to develop a car showroom on the site.

It would house Honda and Kia brands.

Agent Cadnant Planning said: “The site is currently vacant and considered to detract from the visual amenity of the surrounding townscape.

“The proposal to develop a high quality car showroom at this location represents an opportunity to bring back into use a prominent town centre site.”

Plenty of Christmas joy spread as parade returns to Llandudno

RESIDENTS turned out in their droves to enjoy a Christmas parade in Llandudno.

The parade travelled from the Station area along Vaughan Street, into Mostyn Street to Lloyd Street outside the Town Hall on December 4.

Making up the procession was the town crier, Father Christmas, the mayor and Mis Alice, Holy Trinity Church Nativity Float, City of Liverpool Pipes and Drums, Cindy Lou and the Grinch, Llandudno Silhouettes and Marvel Superhero characters to name a few.

NORTH SHORE PROMENADE SHELTERS
Last month's e-news bulletin touched on the Community Renewal Funding that the UK Government has provided to support some local projects in Conwy.  One of these projects, which is also being funded by Visit Wales, the Welsh tourist board, is the refurbishment of the two, or three, most dilapidated shelters on the North Shore Promenade.

The Victorian style design for these shelters, similar to those on the prom over a century ago, have now been unveiled.  The new shelters will include lighting powered by discreet solar panels which will be fitted flush with the roof line.  This lighting will hopefully discourage antisocial behaviour.

Still wonder where the money went for these new shelters, that was in a fund a few years ago 🤔, then they were getting funding from the turbine people for them and the paddling pool area, wonder if finch has put the mockers on that.

No reason she'd do that.
The rebuilt shelter at Deganwy is looking the worse for wear already. I seem to recall it cost a small fortune to restore it to it's original state.

Hi Dave wasn't it the finch that didn't want anymore turbines buit out at sea, so they have had to cut back on the amount,  oh and if it wasn't for these turbines many lads in this area wouldn't have a decent job. She wants to make her mind up.

The scheme has been enthusiastically received by landowners Mostyn Estates, Llandudno Town Council, the town’s Hospitality Association and Development Partnership.

And and the town council and Mostyn Estates have both pledged to make substantial contributions to the cost of seven new shelters, with the initial cost for each estimated at around £50,000.

That was in 2013

A big thank you to who ever put on the 7.30pm fire work display on top of the Great Orme last night, there was a warning on social media about the display for pet owners, and it was timed for the youngsters, and considering it was privately funded, an excellent display and very entertaining.

Yes Steve, it was top notch.
It was held on Mike’s old golf course, and was funded by locals.
Social media comments today were hilarious,  full of mealy mouthed comments about possibly frightening anyone who had served in Afghanistan, had PTSD or nervous cats.
They didn’t know of such a case, they were just moaning in case there were any.

In the States they've been ding some detailed investigations into these sorts of comments and have discovered a couple of very interesting things: most of the millions of such comments are generated by a small group of around eight people. They use software to generate such comments automatically.
