It looked to me like the movement (works) was far too small and not up to the job.

Curious.  Where I've seen this sort of floral clock installed, they've always been completely flat. I wonder whether the angle was partly to blame?

I expect that it will be relegated to the same place as the Welcome to Llandudno sign and the White rabbit-- forgotten in a corner.

Should not make any difference if the hands have counter balances on them. Cant remember if these did or not, guessing not though!

Along with the Windmill that used to be on the Carlton roundabout!

How long before the Floral Clock is moved across to the 'Eyesores' thread?

Its poor design has been flagged up before on here, as has the ridiculous timing of the construction during the peak season.  Then we had the ludicrous situation whereby the contractors downed tools for a fortnight for holidays.

After all that, for the mechanism itself not to work is unforgivable.

I wonder if the clock is being kept in storage over winter?

How many other public clocks can you think off that are removed for the winter months?

Just come over Penrhyn Hill and there is a cherry-picker being used on the two vacant "Welcome to Llandudno" pylons. Could it be that they are short of storage in the council depot, now that the floral pocket-watch has been "put back for the winter", and will be putting the sign back up to create some more space ?

The sign is back up at the top of Penrhyn Hill, looks great! It has 'Croeso' underneath in matching letters, well done to those who did it  $good$
