North Wales Police will implement enhanced measures to combat serious violence and anti-social behaviour

Police will pour extra officer patrols into 28 parts of North Wales in a "Hotspot Response". North Wales Police will implement enhanced measures to combat serious violence and anti-social behaviour in towns across the region.

Over the next 12 months, significant additional patrol resources will be assigned to areas with higher incidences of these offence types. Named ?Op Restore?, this enhanced operational capability has been facilitated by Home Office funding as part of its ?Hotspot Response? initiative.

A North Wales Police officer has spoken of one of the worst dog attacks he has seen in his career, when 22 sheep carrying lambs were killed, and another 48 injured.

The devastating impact of the attack at Paul Jones' farm in Rhos, near Wrexham, was reported in 2023.

Two American XL Bulldogs escaped their home and came onto the farm, mauling and killing dozens of animals.

Mr Jones lost around ?14,000 worth of animals in the attack.

The incident was caught on the officers' body cameras while they were filming the latest series of Y Llinell Las for S4C.

The force have set up the workshops to help keep motorcyclists safe on the road.

BikeSafe, a national police-led initiative, strives to help drivers develop key skills around riding and safety.

This one-day workshop, is full of content and activities including theory classes on causation factors and practical ride assessments.

Participants have the opportunity to receive feedback during those rides.

North Wales Police are using a plane to help catch bikers who are speeding and riding in an "anti-social" way in a bid to cut road deaths. As part of ongoing efforts to reduce motorcycle-related deaths and serious injuries on the roads of North Wales officers from the Roads Crime Unit held a special operation over the weekend.

Officers in marked and unmarked cars targeted the A494, A5 and A487 in the Gwynedd South area on Sunday due to the number of injuries and fatalities in that area. They used the NPAS (National Police Air Service) fixed wing aircraft to help identify those riding in an "anti-social" manner.

It has been reported that a male has been knocking on doors and delivering leaflets in relation broken gold jewellery.

He has been asking for persons to let him take the items away to be valued.

We strongly advise not to hand over any jewellery to any persons going door to door.

North Wales Police Headquarters in Colwyn Bay will once again welcome the public as they mark their 50th anniversary later this month.

The commemorative event will be staged on September 14, providing visitors with valuable insights into the workings of the police force and crime prevention tips.

The free event, which is open to all ages, will kick-start at 10.30am and continue until 4pm.

Audiences will have a chance to meet police dogs, interact with local officers, learn about recruitment procedures, and understand the force's operational dynamics.

Participants will also get real customer experience by sitting in a police car, viewing specific team demonstrations, understanding how 999 calls are handled, witnessing forensic collision team operations, meeting the drone team and so forth.

Additionally, the fleet department will explain how they manage all police force vehicles.

The North Wales police and crime commissioner has backed a week of action against business crime.

The Safer Business Action Week, initiated by the National Business Crime Centre, aims to reduce offences.

The effort, which started on October 14, will see police forces and partners collaborate on targeted operations and community engagement to raise awareness of business crime.

Police and crime commissioner Andy Dunbobbin marked the beginning of the week by visiting Rhyl to meet Ashley Rogers, the chief executive of North Wales Business Council.

The cost of policing in North Wales will rise by £22.50 per household this year as inflationary costs hit the service.

Revealing the 2025/26 police precept - the cost of policing that is included in each household's council tax bill - Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales (PCC) Andy Dunbobbin said he understood that for many people any increase was difficult.

But he added that robust conversations had been had with the Chief Constable to keep the increase as low as possible.

POLICE are currently investigating several attempted burglary offences in the Penrhynside area.

On February 25, North Wales Police received reports of a male trying door handles and attempting to enter people’s properties.

The male was described as a white male, with short dark hair and a slim build.

He had headphones on, was topless but had a black shirt, red coat, black trousers, and black shoes.

The male also had a black dog with him.

Police are encouraging any witnesses to come forward and for people to check their CCTV.

Police issue urgent warning to owners of cars with 'keyless entry'
Two vehicles have been stolen in separate incident over recent days
Police have issued a warning after thieves intercepted key fob signals to steal cars. Officers have urged motorists to take extra care, with signals even being at risk if they are inside a house.

A North Wales Police Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele statement said: "Following the theft of two vehicles in separate incidents over the last few days, detectives are advising the public to ensure their vehicles are properly secured. The latest incidents involve cars with 'keyless entry' functions, where the signal between the vehicle's key and the car itself has been intercepted (otherwise known as the 'Relay method').

THERE are concerns about the lack of custody units and cells at Llandudno Police Station, with the nearest custody unit in St Asaph.

Llandudno Police Station, at Oxford Road, has no custody units, despite the station being constructed less than 10 years ago to replace the older police building.

This means that individuals apprehended by police, and those who remain in custody, will need to be taken to the custody unity in St Asaph, which is a 34-mile round trip from the Llandudno.
