Glad things are back to normal, now :-)

I've been unable to use my laptop for nearly a week.     The laptop said that I had no internet connection but my Wifi clearly said it was working but the problem was fixed today by an IT engineer
The only thing I did before the laptop stopped working was to click on an update from Microsoft,   Has anyone had a similar problem when they have updated their computer?

Sometimes, switching the router off and on can fix that problem.

Thanks very much for the tip Dave,   I did try it a few times but it didn't work for me so I had to call out the IT engineer and I'm pleased to say that it's working now.     Fingers crossed and hope that I have no further loss of the internet

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post but I'm frustrated by the effort of even trying to read posts never mind write a new one. Every time you change a page a pop-up advert appears, it's so very tedious.
I appreciate it costs money to host a forum, how much I don't know but I did send a donation when asked a few months back. I'm not sure where that appeal was now either and I don't recall an acknowledgement that it had been received either.
Anyway, the above is the reason I make few visits here nowadays
cheers
Dave

I believe we can convert the system that allows contributing members to escape ads entirely.  I'll take a peek.

I have to admit to only looking in every few days instead of daily as I used to.  The adverts are extremely annoying and sometimes having to wait up to 30 seconds to delete the thing, being warned that I will lose my "reward" whatever that would be. Sometimes two adverts to be deleted before it goes in.  It does seem that only one person (Hugo) is contributing, so well done to him.

Thanks DVT,     I'm having difficulty sometimes in getting in to the system which is a shame.      It's a pity that there are not that many posting nowadays because there are so many forum members who have such a wealth of knowledge on so many subjects that it's always interesting to read them.
Here's a photo especially for you DVT  with your interest in car rallying.       Mull very kindly sent me a calendar and the photo was of the Rally time in Tobermoray..       The photos on the calendar were taken by Colin a binman on the Isle of Mull and he must have the most scenic  Bin route in the whole country

For the last week I have been trying to post things on the forum but I have been unable to do so.     Every time I have tried to login my screen went white and this notice appeared on it

Today though I had no such problem loggin in,   has anyone else had the same problem this last week?

Hugo,
Yes I have suffered the error message but it was not consistent in that a couple of minutes later access was possible,
