The main problem with web sites about climbing is that they're read largely inside warm, cosy houses, which detracts from their inherent dangers. Crib Goch is a good example of showing something that is far from safe for inexperienced walkers and can present serious risks, even to the experienced.
In effect it's walking the rim of an ancient caldera (last active around half a billion years ago, so relatively safe, now
) but successive ice ages have revealed the shapes and depths of the geological upheavals.
It's staggeringly beautiful from the Southern rim on a nice day, but you have to take care even so, and it's not a walk to take on a blowy day.
