Beautiful World Heritage site in North Wales becomes 'dangerous nightmare' for drivers
'In Snowdonia (Eryri) they tow them all away for parking like this'

Despite signs warning of £1,000 fines, some local people were last weekend irked to see scores of barbecues at the tinder-dry site. Piles of litter were also photographed piled up high in the official car park.

It’s prompted calls for greater enforcement action by Denbighshire Council, and for a review of local parking arrangements. “It was a nightmare trying to get up and down the road,” said a resident on social media. “They would make a fortune if they ticketed them all.”

More than 4,000 pieces of litter picked on mountain

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) clean-up event saw 50 volunteers and eight professional mountaineers hike and abseil to retrieve the litter from Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon, which included sweet and crisps packets, bottles and cans and even some cowboy hats.

Our lovely beach is becoming a no-go area' - anger over Gwynedd's campervan free-for-all
Residents claim laybys, beachfronts and beauty spots are crowded with litter-dropping freeloaders

Holidaymakers – especially those in campervans – are being asked to park “sensibly” when visiting Gwynedd this summer. Irate residents plagued by irresponsible parking fear the local authority’s polite request will fall on deaf ears.

A perceived lack of enforcement is blamed for some of the scenes witnessed in North Wales this summer. Local people in Gwynedd claim laybys, beachfronts and beauty spots are crowded with litter-dropping motorhome owners unwilling to pay for campsites.

Woman travels from England to North Wales to climb Yr Wyddfa but is left 'disappointed'
Aisha, from Manchester, recently travelled to Wales to take on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), but it's fair to say she was left underwhelmed by the experience of her Welsh adventure

Let's hope that she never comes back again as the Mountain Rescue Service have already had too many ill prepared idiots rescued this year

North Wales beach with notoriously soft sand snares VW driven though lifeboat gates
Cars are not permitted on the beach because of the likelihood they will become stranded in its soft sand

A different beach but the same old story.    “Can’t educate stupid,” said one local. Another added: “It’s such a shame common sense isn’t very common anymore.”
