It's amazing what you get to hear on these webcasts Hugo & the one you mention turned into a bit of a bun fight with Councillors sniping at each other. The lack of respect shown to the Chairperson when she told one Councillor he would have to stop several times, as things were getting out of hand wasn't what you would expect, so much so they switched his microphone off, yet he continued raising his voice. Perhaps the time has come to get out the yellow & red cards, like they do with football to keep certain Councillors in line.

I'm sure there are plenty of Conwy residents, myself included would have appreciated attending that meeting but it wasn't to be.

I was shocked to hear that Welsh Government are holding back £300 million from the 22 Welsh Counties, if that was divided between us as it should be, then it would go a long way to cover our shortfall to balance the books & we would only be faced with a 5% rise in Council Tax instead of the 12.5% that was mentioned. Bearing in mind the Welsh Government have already started the process of re-valuation of all properties in Wales, so yet another large increase in Council Tax on the way.

Thanks for that link Dave, bit of a shock to see the Basic Cllr's pay goes up from £18,666 to £37,799 for Cabinet Members. I hadn't realized it had gone up that much, perhaps a pay freeze is in order.

Perhaps they should all be just given a £5000 allowance per year and we'll see how many of them are just in it for the money then.

Meleri them figures are last years,  the pay for councillors is £19’771, cabinet members are £40 k    I know one councillor admits to only doing one day of council work,  it wouldn’t matter how much government allocated this council. They decide on a figure for themselves,  bigger CT. More for them to waste.   😡
