Don't worry the next  money tree is arriving.....

WA announce the tourist tax

https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/wales-tourism-tax-details-revealed-30445187

If you look at this WA Site it lists the total  accommodation for Wales which gives some indication of the number of premises which can be used to collect the fee, as you move down the site its lists most types of accommodation but I didn't see Airbnb as nobody is sure how many exist until registration starts

https://www.gov.wales/summary-wales-bedstock-data-situation-june-2022-html

So a family of 4 will pay around £35 for a weeks stay (£1.25x4 =£5 then seven days = £35

First step in this scheme is the registration of all the overnight stay properties and I'm sure this will be an additional fee for the owners, then the scheme running costs

My view is the final figure for use will be a lot less than the family £35...dare I say lucky if there is a third to use for the tourist enhancements.

Tony Blair was just halfway through his time as prime minister and FA Cup finals were being played in Cardiff when one of the UK's most expensive and complex road upgrade projects this century began.

But after 23 years, roadworks on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road in South Wales are finally going.

The 28-mile (45km) £2bn upgrade to almost motorway standard was designed to bring prosperity to one of the UK's most deprived areas............. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2dxn7rj27go

Llandudno’s Venue Cymru to receive £10m in government funding

https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/24939934.llandudnos-venue-cymru-receive-10m-government-funding/

At Venue Cymru, the largest Welsh arts centre outside Cardiff, the money will be put towards the relocation of its existing library and tourist information centre, to create a modern and innovative cultural hub.

Sad day for the town centre regeneration as moving the library and tourist information centre out of town isn't the best idea the council had, it was to get the cash to update venue Cymru.
And  they still have the rate payer to support its running no wounder the rates are going up 10%.

Llangefni Town Council failed to file accounts for a year and its clerk bought a £21,000 vehicle "without council approval" and failed to submit an invoice for the purchase, a spending watchdog has found.

The clerk, Rhys Parry, was also paid a "large amount of overtime" without "any evidence that these payments were approved by the council" and sold a transit van, again "without council approval" a damning report by Audit Wales has found.....

I heard this on the news the other night, hinting that this is one of many research programmes already carried out..... the money would be better spent dealing with the problem, but the old story of passing the buck to the tax payers.............. for more BS check the link below.

The Welsh Deputy First Minister, Huw Irranca-Davies, and UK Government’s Water Minister, Emma Hardy, made the announcement during a roundtable meeting in Monmouth with key stakeholders from both sides of the border.

When I first saw the five new  buildings in Nant Y Gamar Road I thought  how attractive they looked, but it wasn't long before I could see a problem with them.
The developer has built one house too many on that stretch of road and by doing so has committed breaches of planning laws that the CCBC has failed to pick up on.  For instance the houses are too close to each other and are less than the required one metre from the boundary.    The shared drive for the five houses is more than 25 metres in length so it should have a turning circle there to allow vehicles to drive in and then drive out of the tandem driveway.
Yesterday I noticed something else and took a photo of the Show House and on the right of the house is a drive leading to a garage.    There is an adjoining drive belonging to the house on the right which has no garage.
Both adjoining drives are not separated by a fence or wall and there is no drainage channel between the drives so there could be a problem with ponding.
However that is not the main problem that will arise because that will happen when it come to parking.
Both driveways are the minimum 10 feet wide and this gives  a total of 20 feet between the houses to accommodate two vehicles parked side by side.
This provides enough space for two cars to pass but not  quite enough room for parking side by side and opening doors.
A house should be built for the harmony that the owners can enjoy but I  can see problems ahead.

I don't think I have ever seen a new build site quite as awful as this one. The developer's greed has ruined it, and might well ruin the developer too. I don't suppose it will but it's a poke in the eye at least. Karma for West Shore!!

Dave, there are lots of lovely properties in Craig Y Don cheaper than the £600K  that the developer is asking for this show house.      Who would pay that price for a house with a small back garden and a front garden the size of a Postage Stamp?
There will also be parking disputes between the neighbours and that is inevitable.    Why hasn't CCBC  checked this site out?

Residents will need to buy cars with a sun roof . No need to exit the car via a door.

No different to parking on a Calmac ferry especially the Loch Frisa.

Council paying £42K a week to run its HQ ahead of planned move
It will cost Conwy Council £700k to move its headquarters to Coed Pella - but is set to save them huge sums in the longer term
