The 'undiscovered classic' walk through Eryri that's shooting up the UK ratings
It's one of two North Wales hikes considered among the UK's best

This walk is a really good one with many interesting things to see and all set in beautiful surroundings.     It has been fairly quiet when we have had walks on the trail so I hope that it remains that way

Six 'epic' walks in Eryri to beat the crowds on Wales' highest mountain
If you don't like 'shouty people playing music' on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), these alternatives nearby are just as majestic

'Fantastic response' as villagers march to save Anglesey footpath
They want to retain access to a path that runs by the 11th century Aberlleiniog Castle and down through woodland, towards the Lleiniog beach, between Llangoed and Penmon

It's a lovely walk and I hope that the footpath will be open to everyone again

On Monday we decided to go for a walk around the Powder Works in Penrhyndeudraeth.  We have been there before but it's a Nature Reserve with an explosive history and is set in an area of outstanding beauty.      Apart from that Tellytubby and his mate Rob are avid bird watchers and they wanted to see the Pied Flycatcher which had been spotted there.
TT  was quick to see one and there were severel varieties on the reserve,    In the past this site was an explosive factory works and some of the old buildings are still visible today.       After a good look around we had our lunch at the side of a cooling lake but this time we didn't see the Grass Snake swimming across the lake.    Apparently there are also Adders and Slow Worms all over the Reserve
We returned to the car walking above the Afon Dwyryd and you can see Portmeirion in the distance.   In the photo there is a large island that has been up for sale recently and the price was over £200K  which is about the same price as a wooden  beach hut in Abersoch !
We left the Reserve and drove to the Aberglaslyn  Osprey Reserve where there are three nests of  Ospreys and  it's well worth a visit to see these magnificent birds.
We spend some time there before going to Old Uncle Albert's home in Morfa Bychan where we finished off a lovely day with a cup of tea and carrot cake
Rob ponted out that it was 10 months since we were  last together when we had a walk around Llyn Cowlyd but sadly health reasons played a big part in it
Soon it was time for the long journey home and  I was quite tired when I got gome but TT and   Rob were not finished as they heard that a Hoopoe had been seen near Prestatyn so off they went in search of the Hoopoe and I'm pleased to hear that they saw it so it was worth the effort for them
