It shouldn't.  Apple's well-deserved success and meteoric rise is largely attributed to how easy they make it to operate their equipment. Ian, I also took your advice and went into the Apple shop today but I couldn't get near an i pad as they were all being used by teenage boys!
I did go and look at one in John Lewis but it wasn't connected. They are very stylish but I remain to be convinced about doing without a keyboard.

You can buy the keyboard as an accessory for the ipad. I think it links wirelessly.

That's often the case   :) :)

The iPad has a virtual keyboard and you can also add a physical one via bluetooth.

And it soon becomes second nature. So much so, that when using a normal keyboard you'll find yourself tapping the screen!  :rage:

Could someone please tell me how to get in and out of full screen mode in Internet Explorer?  (I realise , of course, that if I were not an IE user I might be able to work it out for myself!!).  To be honest, it's the getting out bit that I'm more interested in - one of my cats does the getting in bit by treading on the keyboard but I don't know which keys he presses and he won't tell me!

Just an aside, as I've found the answer to this one, do you know how to rotate everything on the screen through 90, 180 or 270 degrees?  My cat taught me this trick and now I'm waiting for an opportunity to show off my incredible computing skills - there must be a use for it somewhere!

Full screen toggling is by F10, F11 or F12, not sure which one. It's F11 in Firefox.

Many thanks, Dave, that's got it.  It is F11 but there's a bit of a delay (at least there is on my computer) and when I tried it before I must have toggled back again before before it had a chance to work. 

Let's see what the cat comes up with next!

I seem to have lost the row of FILE, EDIT, VIEW, FAVORITES, TOOLS AND HELP.

To get it, I have to press F10 but the row does not stay up permanently as it used to.

Any suggestions?

All depends on which version of IE you are using. You could try this:

Go to 'View' menu
Then click on 'Toolbars' and an additional section appears to the right.
Make sure that both 'Menu Bar' and 'Lock the Toolbars' are ticked'
