I have.  If you tap the ?123 button, they appear. Alternatively, you can use a Bluetooth keyboard. It's also possible to load alternative keyboard layouts. Go to settings / general / keyboard / keyboards. I have the Emoj keyboard for smileys.

I know about using the ?123 to get all the signs and symbols, but I would prefer some of these items on the normal keyboard.  Some applications do have such signs and symbols on the keyboard they provide, so there must be one somewhere.  I'll have a look through a few more options and see if I can find one that suits me better.
Thanks anyway.

The Emoj has now been added to my default keyboards!    $good$

As I mentioned in the Quiz section I have been away for a few days, and as usual when I returned I checked the "recent posts" section to catch up on any local news etc. However I could only access the last 10 pages which only covered the three previous days. How do I go back further than the last 10 pages?

Use the 'show unread posts since your last visit' link.

Why does it always happen when there is something important going on ?

Please I need help.......... I am unable to get into my Emails.
Normally go into BT Yahoo ....Log in and its there.
Starts to work with the circle going round then after 3 seconds stops becomes the BT sign - Bt Log In Page.

Any ideas please on how to get it working.

I highly recommend that people use the free gmail service for email - it really is excellent:

BT sent emails getting everyone to change their log in details a few weeks back. If you have IMAP, then you do have to make some changes.

On Gmail, however, I've never warmed to it. Partly, I suspect, because you get what you pay for, to some extent.  I think the best option is to get your own domain.  Only costs a very small amount and it works perfectly in my experience.

I have my own domain, too, but it forwards all email through to gmail. I find that I never receive any spam emails with gmail, they are automatically sent into the junk folder.

That's good.  Just have an uneasy feeling about gmail.   Probably nothing.

Yes, DaveR, I have been using the new system for a while.

When I click on EMAIL at the far end I have simply been getting a blank screen for a few days now.

Thanks mull.

I have got them now by swopping my browser from IE to Firefox.

It was my spam folder I needed to check.

At long last I decided to get rid of my old Tower PC and so I've invested in a new laptop running Windows 8.  What a difference in the way it is used from XP and the old Windows systems!  At times I wish there was a class one could go to immediately after purchase, to learn the intricacies of the piece of equipment.

I'm gradually working through it and hope to be an expert in a few years time.   Anyone else had  the joys of Windows 8?    :D
