...and you can also opt to set the iPod to 'manual managing', so it won't inadvertently overwrite your existing stuff.

I think a lot of caution should be exercised when using SYNC especially until you fully understand the function!    :D

Add it to the iTunes library, set iTunes to 'manually manage' syncing, then simply move the song from the iTunes listing to the iPod when the latter appears in your iTunes window after you connect the iPod.

I'm forever getting telephone calls from abroad asking me to complete surveys for them and it's annoying. I've been very polite up to now but what I've started to do is answer the phone and when they mention "survey" I just say hold on and put the phone down and just carry on with something.
After about 5 minutes I replace the receiver and hang up.  I've got a caller display on the phone but it doesn't help as the number just comes up as international.

Have you tried registering for the Telephone preference service? It is free and does seem to cut out alot of these cold calls.

Hugo, we also have this problem, but as we no longer have friends/family living abroad , we just let it ring.  Part of the trouble is, that once you have accepted a call from these people, they know it is a live phone number, and as they pass the detail on, it will snowball, you will get more and more call from these pains in the bottom.   As we do not answer, the call are now very infrequent, we may go a month or two without one, then get two on consecutive days, presumably from the same person, but it is never more than two, so not answering really works.  If you have people outside the UK who are likely to call you, just ask them to perhaps send you a text message before hand  to warn you they are going to call.

Morning Martin.
That is probably why I still occasionally get calls from someone called Nigel or Justin who has a strong Indian twang ! They usually want to update the security on my computer, but are non-plussed when I put on a dopey voice ( not much effort) and say " But I haven't got one "

That's a good idea, but I have a strong suspicion that you are not telling the truth, I don't know what it is, but I believe that you may indeed have a computer.  There's no pulling the wool over my eye.

One ruse I use to put spam callers off is to first answer the phone just in case it is someone I do want to speak to , then if it is spam, say that I must just turn the oven down (or any other excuse) and put the phone down and just leave it off the hook for 10 minutes or more.   One can always accompany the silence with some heavy breathing, rattle of pots and pans or what ever takes your fancy.    :D

 _))* _))*
I have a repertoire of silly answers
for example--
Caller -- Could I speak to whoever deals with health and safety?
Me --  Eh no lad-ahm only a servant.
Caller-- Oh when will the owner be back?
Me -- Ah doon't know lad, he's run off.

Perhaps it becomes of having been in Pantos !! :o

I don't know why I didn't think of it before but now when an international call is on my caller display I'll answer it in Welsh.    :D
and see what the response is.     $good$

Trying to sort out my bedroom and I'm being harassed by shoe racks.  Everytime I try and put a pair of shoes on the bl**d thing it's separating or expanding and twisting.  $angry$ I'm a woman on the edge right now and while I'm at it in my opinion who ever Mr JML is he should be shot....... as if you can hang four pairs of jeans one one hanger without them trailing on the bottom, falling off or taking up more room anyway!!..aahgh.  I think I'll have a coffee before I beat the shoe rack into submission.  ;D
