I have not visited the site for years............Must do better
The smallest church in the British Isles and why it's found on a North Wales beach
The church sits in an alcove looking over the sea, a patch of history that feels out of place in its surroundings.
Many historical buildings and landmarks are situated around North Wales, even the simplest journeys can take you past buildings far older than those around them, sitting out of place to their surrounds. This history leaves fascinating titbits to be explored and wondered about as you explore the beaches, mountains and towns of the region.
For those that call these places home it can be easy to forget about places you see everyday, walking past these wonders, as they blend into the background of our home towns and villages. One such piece of history is Saint Trillo's church in Rhos-on-Sea, which sits tucked away in its own alcove overlooking the sea.
The church itself is still active and has been for nearly 1500 years, yet it is easy to miss because of its size, offering only a total seating for six people within the church, all set into a single small space. Anyone is welcome to enter the church today, which keeps its doors open for those wishing to visit.
